Why me? Why with her?

Chapter 6

I felt someone coming up my body like a snake and looked down and saw Jess. She came up to my neck and started kissing it, making me blush.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

She was coming to my lips...

*BEEP,BEEP*

I jumped up and turned my alarm off. I laid back on the bed, my whole body hot. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!"

I got up and went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, of course my face was bright red. I brushed my hair and splashed my face with cold water. I went down stairs hoping no one would ask about me being bright red. I then saw a note on the door

Note: Hey sis me, mom, and dad went out today we'll be back later. Oh ya go to the store for me we need milk, eggs, and laundry detergent      ~Alex

"Ugg!"

I went and got a bowl of cereal then went and watched TV while I ate. I got done and washed my bowl and put it on the drying rack.

"Might as well go now."

I looked at the clock and saw it was already noon.

"Holy crap, I slept late."

I grabbed my jacket and walked out the door, remembering to lock it, and went down the street. I got to where to streets connect and I saw short blonde hair out of the corner of my eye.

"JESS!"

Jess turned and looked at me and her face softened and she smiled. I ran over to her.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"Where are you going?"

"To the store. What are you doing?"

"Just walking around. Do mind having company?"

I blushed when she asked that, then remembered this morning and blushed even redder.

"No, you can come with me."

We then started walking to the store. We got to the store and split up so we could get done faster.

We met up after that ready to check out when I saw her holding a cake with lots of whipped cream on top.

"What is that?"

"A cake, duh."

"Why do you have it?"

"I want to buy it and share it with you."

I blushed a little and looked away so she wouldn't see.

"Sure, you can get it."

"YES!" 

We checked out and left. Jess was practically skipping the way to my house. We went in and I put the groceries up first and Jess sat on the couch, eating a piece of the cake. I got my own piece and went and sat next to her. She was done with the piece but had her whipped cream left, all of a sudden she whipped it on my face

"Hey!"

She fell back laughing. I jumped up and whipped some on her face.

"HEY!"

"Now you know what it feels like."

She glared at me and I knew I did something bad. She jumped up and tackled my back wards and started smearing it all over my face. I got mine and smacked it onto her face. She pulled back enough for me to get off the couch.

I stood back as she jumped up.

"I'm going to get you for this!"

She then ran at me but I ducked and ran to the kitchen. She came in and stopped on the other side of the counter. I looked down and saw the whole cake sitting there. I took a big hand full and threw it at her.

"WHAT?! That's cheating!"

I ran passed her in time to get away. She ran after me and cornered me at the end of the hall. She ran at me and I went to spread more whipped cream on her face when she grabbed my arm and pushed it against the wall, causing me to fall backwards. She caught us on the wall. I looked at her and she was only a few inches from my face. I saw a faint blush on her nose and I knew my cheeks were bright red. We stared into each others eyes for a few seconds when she started moving closer little by little.

I felt my whole body heating up. "SHE'S GOING TO KISS ME!" I screamed in my head, but didn't object. I started moving closer too. I could feel her breath on my face, it was uneven so I knew she was nervous too. We were about to kiss when...

"Hey, I'm back!"

We shot away from each other as fast as we could. Alex then came up the stairs and saw us covered in whipped cream and our faces bright red.

"Am I interrupting?"

"N-no."

"We should probably get cleaned up."

I nodded and followed Jess into the bathroom and we started cleaning our faces off. We came out and saw Alex eating a piece of the cake and we both let out a small laugh.

"Hey, Jess."

"Oh, hey."

"When did you come over?"

"Oh a little while ago, I ran into Krista on the way to the store."

"Ok, well it's good to see you."

"You too."

Jess looked like she was being charged for murder and Alex looked like she was having the time of her life. I laughed at the situation, causing Jess to glare at me and I just smiled like a dork.

"Well, see you tomorrow."

"Ya, see you."

Jess then left and I waved as she left the yard. I walked back in and got another piece of cake and sat down in the living room with Alex.

"So, you and Jess have been getting pretty close?"

"Ya, we're good friends."

"You really are good friends then. I walked in on you guys having a cake war."

I giggled a little then remembered before Alex walked in and started to blush.

"Why are you blushing?"

"Oh, no reason. I'm tired I think I'll go to bed now."

"Ok, good night."

I went and put my plate up and went to my room and closed the door. I flopped on my bed and got on my phone. I saw a photo on instagram of Jess and I started to blush, I then remembered the dream and what happened earlier. My whole body started heating up and my heart was pounding in my chest, I thought it would explode. 

I then remembered what Jess said in my dream.

[I love you]

I put my face in my hands and whispered, "I love you too." I decided to go to bed a few minutes later
