"Hello, Little dykes!"

I froze in terror at the voice, Jess immediately swung around in front of me. I forced my head to move and look at Jess.

"Run"

That was all she said. I did as she said and started running down the road, as I was about 2 yards from the corner I heard a loud pop, I knew Jess had gotten in a fight with my dad.

I got back to the house and sat at the gate catching my breath, after I caught it I looked out of the gate to see if I could see Jess, but I didn't.

"She probably still beating him up." I thought as I sat down on the porch.

A few minutes had passed and Jess still wasn't there.

"I'll go see what's happening." I thought, barely able to keep myself calm.

I ran back down the street, but there was nobody at the corner. I ran to it and looked around, the sight I didn't want to see was exactly what I was looking at.

Jess was on the ground, eye's wide and cloudy, blood covering her front, and a knife sticking out of her chest.

I ran over to Jess and let her lean on me.

"It will be ok, hold on."

I pulled out my phone and dialed 911, then I felt a hand on my face.

"I love you."

I looked down at Jess. barely holding back tears.

"I love you too."

after I said that, Jess passed out.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Oh, hello, my girlfriend got in a bad fight. She is bleeding really badly!"

"Tell me where you are."

"The corner of west drive and street."

"Ok, an ambulance is on it's way."

"Ok, thank you."

A few minutes later the ambulance got there and put Jess in the back, I tried to get a ride but they said she was in to bad of a shape to have me in the back.

Once they started driving off I ran after them, crying. I was half way down the road when a car stopped beside me and Alex rolled down the window.

"What's going on."

"Jess...ambulance...hospital...stabbed." Was all I could huff out.

"Get in!"

I did as told and Alex went speeding after the ambulance.

*Time skip*

We got to the hospital a few minutes after the ambulance, but we couldn't see Jess, and I refused to leave until I got to see her.

"I'm going to call mom."

"Ok."

Alex walked outside and pulled her phone out.

{ALEX'S POV}

I dialed mom's number and listened to the phone ringing. I looked back in at Krista, sitting in a chair her knees to her chest.

"I'm sorry." I whispered as mom picked up the phone.

"Hello, what is it sweetie?"

"Mom, you need to get to the hospital now."

"What?! Why, what happened?"

"Jess got in a fight with dad...and he stabbed her."

"OH MY GOD! Is she ok?!"

"We don't know, but they said she was in bad shape."

"Ok, I'm on my way right now. I just have to deal with something first."

"Ok."

{KRISTA'S MOM'S POV}

I got in my car, disappointed and about to cry, and speed down the road to my house. I got there and saw my husband sitting on the porch. Before I got out I pulled out my phone.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Hello, my husband as stabbed and abused my daughter and her girlfriend. He is on my porch at the moment, I would like you to come and arrest him."

"We are on our way, please keep him there."

I sighed and hung up, then got out of the car.

"Your home. I lost my key and Alex wasn't here either."

"Ya, have a seat with me for a few minutes, like old times."

"Ok, honey."

A few minutes later the police got there and took my husband away. He cursed at me the whole way to the car.

{KRISTA'S POV}

I was sitting in the chair, Alex had come back in a while ago, but I was too sad and worried to talk. The doors opened and I heard a familiar voice.

"Krista, Alex. Are you guys ok?"

I looked up and saw my mom, she was looking down at me, about to cry.

"Ya, I think we're fine." Alex replied for both of us.

Mom signaled for Alex to follow her.

"Yes?"

"Do you know how Jess is?"

"No, they haven't let us in yet."

"Ok..." Mom cut off and looked at me. "I hope she's ok."

*Time skip*

It was about 11 o'clock. Alex was dozing off, mom was reading a newspaper, and I was looking down the hallway trying to guess which room was Jess's.

A few minutes later a doctor came out of a room and down to us.

"Are you the people who came in with the girl who was stabbed?"

My mom stood up as I did and we walked over to the man.

"Yes, and her name is Jess."

"We have gotten the wound stitched up..." He paused for a minute. "Jess is very lucky, the knife was an inch away from a major artery..." He paused again but for even longer this time.

My heart started to sink and I could feel the tears welling back up.

"What is it, doctor?"

"Well, she is in a self induced coma. And we don't know when or if she'll wake up."

"What do mean 'if'?!" I yelled at him.

"Well, she lost a lot of blood and was in a lot of trauma, so she put herself into a coma. Some people never wake up from a coma, so we have no clue." He answered, not making eye contact.

I couldn't hold back the tears anymore.

"Can we see her?"

"Yes, just don't touch anything in the room."

"We won't. Come on sweetie."

We walked down the hall and stopped outside of Jess's door.

"I'll let you be alone."

I nodded thanks to her as she walked back down the hall. I walked in and heard the beeping of the machines. I looked up at Jess and saw a heart beat monitor on her, an IV in her arm, a patch on her chest were the stitches were, and a nasal cannula to help her breath.

"Oh, Jess. I'm sorry."

I went and sat beside her, and felt like I could just barely hear her voice saying it was ok before I fell asleep, holding her hand.

{OH NO! What's going to happen to Jess? P.S. if you don't know what a nasal cannula is just look it up because it's hard for me to explain}
