Bre’s POV

I sat up high in the rafters with my legs hanging over the edge. Sitting next to me was my best friend, Clint.

Clint had been my best friend since SHEILD first found me. They had seen me use my powers, and told me they could help me control them. I had nowhere to go so, of course, I accepted.

When I was first brought into SHIELD, I didn’t know anyone. I was only about eighteen then. I met Clint only a couple years after, then later Natasha. Both Clint and I were assigned to kill her, but Clint decided against it and I agreed. After a while we all became close friends. Clint and Natasha seem to be more than friends, but Clint denies it. He’s so stubborn.

I don’t see Natasha much anymore, but I’m always with Clint. He’s like a brother to me, always watching out for me.

“How much longer do we have to just sit here?” I complained tucking my long, blond side bangs behind my ears. They never fit when I put my hair up. I hated that.

“Breann, have more patience,” Clint told me, calling me by my full name. He knew I hated it. I glared at him while he chuckled, “Alright, I’m sorry!” He told me holding his hands up in surrender, “Bre,” He repeated using the name I actually preferred. “Have more patience.”

I smiled in victory, and then responded, “I don’t believe I’m capable of such power.”

Clint turned to me with a smirk. He was about to say something when Director Fury walked in, causing me to whip my head to look at him while Clint rolled his eyes and continued to watch what was happening. “Talk to me doctor.” Director Fury said, walking towards Doctor Selviq.

“Director,” Selviq responded and started to walk towards him.

“Is there anything we know for certain?” the Director asked.

            “The teseract is misbehaving.”

“Is that supposed to be funny?” Director Fury asked, sounding upset.

“No, it’s not funny at all,” Doctor Selviq said joining up with the Director. “The teseract is not only active, she’s… behaving.”

“I assume you pulled the plug?”

“She’s an energy source, we turn off the power, she turns it back on. If she reaches peak level-”

“We’ve prepared for this Doctor,” The Director cut in. “Harnessing energy from space.”

“We don’t have the harness; my calculations are far from complete. She’s throwing off interference, radiation. Nothing harmful; low levels of gamma radiation,”

I watched as the Director turned quickly to Doctor Selviq his piercing eye looking at the doctor, “That can be harmful.” He said stressing the words then paused and looked at the Doctor. “Where’s Agent Barton and Agent Preston?”

Selviq scoffed, “The hawk?” He jabbed his thumb up where me and Clint were sitting. “Up in his nest, as usual.” The Doctor said.

            “And Agent Preston?”

            “She’s with him.”

Clint and I sat still watching until we heard Director Fury’s voice from our ear chips, “Agent Barton, Agent Preston, report.”
