Oikawa squinted as the morning light mercilessly hit his face. The whole house was quiet which was unusual. He would usually hear the gentle hiss of sizzling from the kitchen but there was none.

Still in his sleepwear, he slid down the stairs, almost tripping to find a note on the table with some last minute scribbles.

I got an emergency call at work! Sorry I couldn't make breakfast :'( but maybe this will help me get that raise! Find or make something to eat!

Oikawa frowned a little. He couldn't cook for shit, that's for sure so he'd have to eat out. Which meant using money. He groaned since he was saving up for something.
His stomach had already persuaded him with a loud grumble and he was on his way back to his room to get ready.

After choosing a plain white v neck shirt and blue jeans, he stumbled out the door tapping his feet at the mat. After locking the door, he went out to the vaguely familiar streets. Food...where can I even get some?

He stopped in his tracks realizing he hadn't really thought this true. Oikawa whipped out his phone realizing he knew people."I won't be starving today~", he hummed as the tone rang.

"Whomstdve have disrupted my binge watching?"
"...Makki?"
"Oh, hey Oikawa, what up?"
"Help, I'm hungry, how close are you to uhh", he peeked around for the street name but he was on a nameless block. It would have been rude to just suddenly ask favors from strangers but Makki seemed like a pretty laid back guy.

"Shit uh near Ginzo?"
There was shuffling and a jingle of keys from the other side.
"Ye I'm like two blocks down so it's cool I'll just take my bike."
"Nice, hope you haven't had breakfast."
"I found some banana flavored Pocky in my sock drawer, but yeah I'm down for it!"
Oikawa raised an eyebrow. What does this boy even do in his life...

"Hey, mind if I invite Mattsun and Iwaizumi? Seems like a good chance where we can all get together."
Damn. Oikawa wasn't really up to seeing Iwaizumi again but he still had to make amends. He sighed and tried to pep up again.
"Yeah sure."

It can't be that bad. Now that he thought about it, it couldn't be too bad of an idea.

~~

This was the worst idea Oikawa's ever had in his life. Well he's come up with a lot of terrible ideas in his past but this by far has been the worst.

Makki had led him to a neighborhood cafe attached to a dark green house. Iwaizumi was there before Mattsun and he made sure he sat next to Oikawa. The pressure is intense.

The waiter came by, his messy curls bouncing lightly as he took out the notepad. Thick eyebrows rested under rather blank gunmetal blue eyes with a flutter of long curled eyelashes. With a sigh he said,"Welcome to Yume Cafe, may I assist you?"

He's pretty. Oikawa thought absently.
"Milk bread.", Iwaizumi said quickly.
"You have a hamburger steak?", Matsukawa said throwing a crumbled up piece of napkin at Makki.

"Strangely so, yes, would you like cheese over that?"
"Ye-"
"I want profiteroles with extra chocolate!",Makki interrupted,"Do me a favor,Akaashi, and make them yourself since you make it the best~"

He didn't answer but merely turned his gaze to Oikawa."Uh milk bread for me too and a tuna sandwich."

"That all?"
"Tea for all of us, is that good with you all?",Mattsun said.
Everyone shrugged in agreement and the waiter went on his way.

There was a short bit of silence before Makki leaned in, oblivious to the paper in his hair. He rested his heads against his hand and smiled.
"So long lost childhood friends, ey?"
