Na Ri's POV

"Then I'll protect you."

Jan Dae's line kept repeating on my head. Hearing it made me happy, overwhelmed and safe. I laughed because it's impossible for me to like one of her soldiers. Besides, I like someone else. But I appreciate the thought that she'll protect me.

"Lady Na Ri. It's time to wake up." I heard one of my friends called. Well, she is actually my 'servant' but I don't refer to her in that way.

"I'm coming." I said while I get out of bed and opened the door for her. She entered and sat at the floor next to my desk.

"I can't believe you were up that early." she told me. I really wouldn't have to wake up early. It's just that...I really can't sleep. I was so happy yesterday that I didn't have time to calm myself and think of all the memories yesterday.

"Yah. Answer me." My friend, Hae Wi told me.

"I haven't slept properly. That's why."

"Wae?"

"I kept on thinking about Jan Dae." I told her truthfully. There is no point in lying tho. She's my friend anyway.

"That Jan Dae? The Jan Dae you were talking about ever since? That Jan Dae?!" Hae Wi looked at me shocked.

"Yah. It's not like there's another human named Jan Dae." I told her as a jokingly glared at her.

"Tell me what happened. Please." she told me as she displayed her playful smile and moved close to where I was sitting.

I told her everything and as expected, she couldn't contain herself with happiness. She began giving me advice on how she'll notice me more. I listened to her carefully.

Well as you can see, the reason why I chose Jan Dae's army to guard me rather than our own is because I actually like her. Not the typical 'like' as a friend, but it's more than that. I know, I know. That kind of admiration is not accepted in this place and era. But, who..just who, wouldn't fall for her? Right? I remembered her line once again and I laughed internally. She wanted to protect me from herself. HAHAHAHA.

I remember the first time I saw her. It was 2 years ago. She was practicing her sword skills when I first saw her. She's not aware that I'm watching her though. I wanted to approach her but I felt shy that's why I decided to hold back.

And that's why Hae Wi told me to be fierce and get my shyness off me. That's why I'm trying to be...you know... kind of impulsive around her.

"Hae Wi, help me prepare today. I'll go somewhere." I told her. She agreed and helped me with my needs.

After doing my usual rituals, I ate breakfast together with my family. We talked about things usually about their affiliation with this town. I think they like it here. I hope they do so that I'll be able to see Jan Dae more often.

After I ate with them, I went outside and I saw soldiers guarding our house. They have the same army suit Jan Dae was wearing. Maybe she's here.

I took a morning walk and looked for her as well. That's when I saw her giving commands to her soldiers. Wow. She looks handsome when she takes control.

"Lady Na Ri! What are you doing here? Do you need something?" Jan Dae asked me as she was approaching me. She looks very charming. Especially that mole below her lips. It makes me want to kiss her.
