MINA’S POV
I woke up to the sound of the birds chirping outside my window, slightly opening my eyes to adjust at the bright sunlight reflecting through my orbs. After a few minutes, I then reached for my phone which was on my desk.
10:30 am. It read.
I get up from my bed and did my usual routine. I took a shower, dressed up, brushed my teeth, and went down. I was having lunch with Chaeyoung today. I cannot be late.
11:28 am. The wall clock at the living room said.
“Oh- Minari, where are you going?” Sana asked as she brought a plate from the kitchen to the dining table.
I walked around the dining table and lightly tapped her shoulder. “I’m going to have lunch with Chaeyoung. Aren’t you guys gonna come?”
“Oh yeah, right. Well, Tzuyu and I have been hanging out since everyday so I guess it’s time for us to miss each other?” Sana giggled after hearing her own statement. I just nodded and let out a small smile.
“Well, I’m going now. I’ll be back before dinner!” I said as I grabbed my coat on the hanger and left the door.
As I was walking down the porch, I decided to check my phone for any message or notification. Unfortunately, there was none. Weird. Chaeyoung would always text me if we’re going to meet up since she always fetch me. Just when I thought of leaving the house already, I saw a black car driving towards the front of our gate. I smiled as I put my phone on my pouch and head outside.
As I was walking, Chaeyoung went out of her car. As usual, she was wearing casual clothes. Not too casual for our lunch date but casual enough since it’s comfortable for her. Oh well, whatever Chaeyoung wears, she always slay it.
“Annyeong, Chaeyoungie!” I said and kissed her cheek. She just let out a small smile.
She opened her car. “Hi~”
I stared at her for a while. Her eyes were a little red, her cheeks are puffy, and she’s pale. My mind was suddenly filled with worries. She might have noticed that I was staring for too long so she turned her back and walked around to the driver’s seat.
“Chaeyoung,” I called out.
She stopped at her tracks and faced me. “Wae?”
I shivered at her cold tone. “Are you alright?”
I noticed her gulped before letting out a deep sigh, which I don’t know why. “I’m fine, I just… I’m a little tired.”
I nodded and smiled at her. I guess I was just a little paranoid.
We both went inside the car. On normal days, Chaeyoung would always buckle the seatbelt for me but today, I decided to take the initiative since I knew she was tired and I didn’t want to bother her with small things like this. Chaeyoung seemed okay with it.
The whole ride was… unusual. Chaeyoung never talked, it was like she’s in deep thought and I can’t seem to comprehend anything about it. Was it about the thesis? Too much homeworks? Art projects? The upcoming art gallery? I don’t know.
But I was sure, it wasn’t either of the four.
“Chaeyoung-ah,”
She tilted her head a little to face me. “Hm?”
“You know what,”
“What?”
“I love you.” I said as I did a cute pose in front of her.
