Chapter 17: My girl

Matt’s POV

I’m mesmerized by this beauty in front of me, and the funny thing about it, she doesn’t know it nor feel it. She’s always this young silly girl who’s insecure of so many petty things.

Sarah: Matt, don’t leave my side ah, hindi ako sanay sa mga ganito. (sabi niya nang papunta na kami sa garden).

Matt: Sinong matinong lalaki ang aalis sa tabi, ‘pag ganito kaganda ang kasama mo?

Sarah: Che! Bolero! (sabay hampas nito sa braso ko kung saan naka-angkla ang isa niyang kamay).

Matt: Seryoso... takot ko na lang na sulutin ka ng mga pinsan ko.

Sarah: Matt?!!

Matt: Kahit pinsan ko yang mga yan, wala akong tiwala pagdating sa’yo.

Sarah: Possesive boyfriend, huh?

Matt: Proud to be!

Sarah: Gagi ka talaga! By the way, lahat ba ng nandito, relatives mo?

Matt: No... some are family friends, some are business associates, yung iba triathlete friends ni Papa.

Sarah: I’m nervous...

Matt: ...of what?

Sarah: I’m quite nervous to meet your parents... what if your mom, doesn’t like---

Matt: Sssshhh.... stop that nonsense. They’re are nice, love.

I promise, it will be fine. Just relax and let’s enjoy the party, ok?

Sarah: Ok...

 

And then we finally entered the party, it’s almost full-house.

I’m seeing familiar faces aside from my relatives.

Cebu business tycoons gathered in one table along with the Mayors of different city, congressmen of all the districts, which are also present in the party.

Indeed, my Granpa, is really an influential person in the province of Cebu.

And then I saw, my cousins, Jason and Marco, wait... they’re not eyeing at me but on the lady at my side... loko ‘tong mga ito ah, humanda kayo sa’kin mamaya!

Oh... there’s Nicholo. He’s a sought after bachelor daw of this province. Solong anak ng Ninong Willy at siyempre ang solong tagapagmana ng kanilang mining business. Mas matanda sa akin si Nicholo ng isang taon at dahil magkalapit kami ng edad, lagi kaming nako-compare sa isat’-isa.

He’s a master’s degree holder lang naman of Business Administration in no less than Oxford University. May itsura din ito, minsan binibiro nga rin nila itong mag-artista but he said that it’s not his thing. Hanggang ngayon ay wala pa rin itong girlfriend na matatawag (but he always have lots of women, fling you called it). He’s really good at women.

 

Hindi ko alam pero nakaramdam ako ng kakaibang kaba when I saw how he looked to Sarah.

We could battle and race for anything Nicholo, but not with MY woman.
