Another Long, Long Day

Coco tapped her finger repeatedly against the desk in a fit of anxiety. She was hardly paying any mind to Professor Crimson, who was giving a lecture on the basics of field medicine when it comes to civilians or huntsman who have had their aura drained. Without an aura to protect the body, real harm can come to an individual until they heal naturally or their aura recovers enough to assist. That was the gist of what Coco had heard in the background as her mind continued to swim.

The threat from Felicity was hanging over her head, and other than the lunch period and their free time when they returned to campus after classes that evening, there was no way to tell the damage that Felicity would be dealing. It was far too early in the semester to skip class, and tarnishing their record would only make them look worst if something did eventually come up. Her tapping was increasing in volume and frequency until a very irate Atom turned around and shushed her. Coco narrowed her eyebrows and glared at the boy who simply glared back until she stopped.

"It's okay Coco, we'll just have to deal with things as they come up okay?" Velvet leaned over and whispered to Coco, which in returned prompted Atom to turn around and shush them again. Coco felt her fist clench, but Vina delivered a decisive jab to his side. Atom made a grunt and went to say something when the professor coughed and looked directly at him. He struggled to try and come up with the words to explain his situation before sighing in defeat and apologizing for the disruption. Coco smiled meekly, and as if detecting it, Vina gave a small thumbs up without turning around.

"Yeah, okay." Taking a breath Coco attempted to take notes. She could only imagine the mind games Felicity would be putting them through in the coming days. Something about the idea of Felicity being able to torment Coco this well without even being around gave her a bit of a drive to push it to the back of her mind, but she had little success. Her mind was still swirling, worried about what could happen to her, and what would happen to her team.

"Miss Adel?" Coco snapped her head up from the trace and felt the gazes of the class on her. Professor Crimson was motioning to a chalk board where a list of symptoms and injuries was written out. "Could you please answer the question?"

"Er, could you repeat it?" Atom chuckled as Coco looked around for any sign of help, which was met with another punch to the side.

"I do hope you're paying attention. It's only the first day of class and I'd hate for there to be any problems. I asked what you would attempt to do if you found a survivor of a Grimm attack with the following injuries, and this list of supplies on hand." Professor Crimson looked frustrated with Coco's slow response time as she constantly motioned between the injuries and supplies.

"I would apply pressure to and wrap any areas that showed signs of bleeding before...checking for broken bones?" The first part was common sense to her, but there was a good deal of items apart from bandages on the list, so she took a shot in the dark as to their uses.

"That is correct, and of course some of these supplies are used to take care of infection or splint a broken or sprained part of the body, but you're close enough." Her eyes narrowed and moved between the rest of her team trying to decide if anyone had helped her. After deciding Coco was either paying attention or lucky, she shook her head and turned back to the board.

Naomi turned and glanced up at Coco with a displeased expression, which caught her off guard. She had expected Atom's responses but Naomi had given Coco a sense of unease since meeting her. Her mind was always focused and she never seemed to be anything less than serious. Coco did her best to maintain eye contact, but still worried that this would only make her behavior even more noticeable. She felt the gaze turn away eventually, but knew that she'd probably have to deal with Naomi after class as well.
