Second Period – ENGLISH

“Good morning, class. Today you can write another essay on a topic of my choice. Perfection.”

‘Okay, Ms. Evans.’

*Bell ringing*

“All of you hand over your assignments back to me.”

“Eva, please wait. I need to talk to you.”

‘Sure, Ms. Evans.’

“Did you have a proper sleep on Thursday?”

‘Yes, ma’am.’

“And what did your aunt had to say to all those? Did she scold you?”

‘Um, no. By the time she came home, I was asleep.’

“Alright, and did you have food today?”

‘No Ms Evans, I woke up late so I rushed to school.’

“Okay, you are going to have food during the lunch period in front of me.”

Lunch Period – CAFETERIA

“Eva, didn’t I told you to have food?”

‘Ms. Evans, I forgot my money home.’

“You could have asked your friends for it?”

‘I don’t have any friends.’

“Why not?”

‘If you don’t know it yet, people going here don’t bother about me, so asking them, is beyond it.’

“I am there; you could have come to me?”

‘You are my teacher.’

“So what? I am a human being first. And it’s my right to take care of you.”

‘…’

“Here, you are going to share the food with me. Open your mouth.”

‘Um, Ms. Evans, I have hands too. I can feed myself.’

“I can clearly see how good you can do that.”

“Eva, there is something on your face.”

‘Is it gone?’

“No, come here. I will take it off from my hands.”

‘Ms. Evans?’

“Yeah?”

‘Thank you.’

“For what?”

‘For taking me home yesterday and feeding me now.’

“Oh dear, I couldn’t see you go hungry now.”

‘No seriously. You are really very kind. Unlike others.’

“Thank you. Now eat up your food, the bell is about to give away.”

AFTER SCHOOL

“Eva, come here.”

‘Yes, Ms. Evans?’

“Hop into my car. I will give you a ride home. I don’t want you to get into any sort of trouble again.”

‘You don’t have to Ms. Evans.’

“You cannot deny me, though.”

‘Okay.’

“You know Eva?”

‘What?’

“Even with all those scars evident on your body, I still find you very beautiful. So don’t try to hide them.”
