                   Archie's pov
You know that moment when you see a photograph, and it brings back memories that you forgot even happened, or when someone tells you a story, that at first you don't remember, but feels all too familiar ? Well that's what happened to me, when I opened up a letter in the mail. That letter changed my life. That letter was the best thing that ever came to me. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Graduation was five years ago. I finished my years in college, and married my high school sweet heart Valerie, and I had become a music teacher, while making my own music with my wife . I was living the dream. I was happy. But the thing about happiness is, you never know the levels. You never really know if you could be happier in a different situation, so what do you do? You trust. You trust that life has a role for you, and is slowly bringing you down the path you're supposed to be on. You trust that destiny has a plan for you. You trust in fates end. I walked down the sunny streets of riverdale with Valerie by my side. Today was  a big day. It was a high school reunion. I had lost touch with practically everyone I went to school with, expect of course Valerie. I was exited to see Betty and jughead again. It had been maybe two years since I spoke to them, but last time I heard from them, they were happily married. I entered the gym, and looked around, nothing had changed, it was still the same old school I remembered. "Archie" I heard a voice call my name. I swung around to see a familiar face. "Betty" I said as I pulled her into a hug. I looked down. "You're pregnant?!" I exclaimed happily when I saw her baby bump. She nodded with a smile. "It's me and jughead's third. She said happily. "God, I am so happy for you two I smiled. "Where's jug?" I asked. "Right here" said jughead as he approached me. "Jughead!" I said as I hugged him. "How are you?" He asked. "I've been good, me and Valerie got married" I smiled. "Good for you two!" Betty said. "Is she here?" Jug asked. "She's over there reconnecting with the pussycats" I said. Betty smiled. "Good times." She reminisced. "Well look who it is!" Exclaimed a voice behind me. "Kevin! Nice to see you" i said hugging him. "What have you been up too all this time?" Betty asked hugging Kevin. "Me and my husband just finally got through the process of adoption" he smiled. "Wow, that's so great!" She said. "Well looks like the old riverdale gang is back together" jughead smiled. "The only person missing is Veronica" Betty smiled. Veronica. Wow. It had been so long since I thought about her. I mean when she left five years ago it was all I could think about, she was the one that got away. But over the years, I moved on with my life. "God, the last time I saw her was five years ago in this gym" I smiled. "Really? That long ago?" Betty asked. "When was the last time you saw her?" I asked. "Huh, maybe two years ago" she said. I frowned. "I thought she was in New York" I asked. "No, she only stayed for a year, she's been back a long while now" said Betty. "Wow, I didn't know, is she coming today?" I asked. Betty shrugged.

Veronica's pov
I walked into the crowded gym floor, that I had grown up in, and looked around. My eyes steered me straight to the boy with the red hair. Archie. Archie Andrews. That name hid so many feelings. The last time I saw him, I was mad at him. But I didn't tell him. Because I was mad at him for the stupidest reason. I was mad at him for letting me walk away. Because knowing Archie, I thought he'd tell me to stay. If he had asked, I would have. But he didn't. For some reason, I had this fantasy that eventually we'd get back together. I was just waiting for him to ask. But again, I probably made up everything between us in my head. Sometimes you just see what you want to see. So yeah, a stupid young Veronica went to New York mad at Archie for not declaring a love he didn't have. But none of that mattered anymore, I glared down at the shiny engagement ring on my finger. And decided to talk to Archie, Betty, kevin, and jughead. I walked up from behind Archie, and covered his eyes with my hands. "Guess who!" I asked happily. I wide grin spread across Archie's face. "Veronica?" He guessed happily. I uncovered his eyes as I he turned around to hug me. "God it's been forever" I smiled. "I'm glad you came" he smiled back. I went to hug Betty jughead and Kevin, and after that we just caught up for hours. I guess it goes to show, it doesn't matter how long it's been since you've seen someone, because time won't change anything, you're best friends will always be you're best friends.

It was late, and a lot of people were leaving. I went to look for Valerie so we could go home, but instead found Veronica sitting alone. I sat down beside her. "Hey Ronnie" I smiled sitting down, through out the evening, are old nicknames for each other had come to surface. "Archiekiens" she smiled. "You wanna know something?" She asked. "What?" I asked. "We broke our promise" she smiled gently. "what promise?" I asked. "We promised we'd keep in touch" she reminded me. I smiled, remembering our conversation at grad. "Alright, well how bout we make it up with a new promise?" I asked. "What?" She asked. "This Time, all five of us keep in touch, and we go back to being best friends again." I offered. "I like it" she smiled. "Promise?" I asked. "promise" she agreed. "Hey I have an idea" she says. "Yeah?" I asked. "Tomorrow, me you jug and Betty go to pop's, like old times" she smiled. "That sounds awesome" I agreed. "Well me and Val have to head out" I said. "Well I'll see you two soon then" she smiled. I got up, and started to walk away, "oh Archie I almost forgot" said Veronica as she dug through her purse, and pulled out a letter. "This is for you" she said. I took it. It had my name scribbled on the envelope in fancy writing, I opened it curiously, and skimmed through the writing. "A wedding invitation?" I asked. Veronica smiled. "I'm getting married, you don't have to come, but I figured we're friends again so-" she started. "I'll be there" I interrupted. "Good" she said with a smile. And we shared one last hug. "I can't believe you're getting married, I'm so happy for you" I smiled. "I know, we've come a long way since high school haven't we?" She asked. She was right, everything was so different everything had changed forever.

                       The End
                          Jk, Jk
(promise that's the last time I do that)
