"Can this be one of those things we don't talk about?" Joey pleaded.
"Are you kidding?!" I rose from the bed and started to pace the room. "You're face is fucked up!"
"Wow thanks."
"No! I don't mean it like that I just, you know, you're all bruised up and I've never seen you like this." I went over and kissed him on the lips. "What happened? We have to talk about this."
Joey gave a sigh, "Okay, basically me and this guy Jackson, we used to be best friends. We'd spend all of our time together, he was like me, staying over holidays instead of going home to family."
"Did he beat you up?"
"I wasn't beat up! It was just two punches!"
"Okay! Don't get your male pride panties in a twist!"
He laughed at this and continued, "Three years ago we had this big fight, he broke my nose, since then we haven't so much as made eye contact..."
"Until today?"
"Yeah." Joe looked super sad, he was still holding something back.
"What was the fight about?" I asked carefully.
I could sense Joey was apprehensive to tell me.
"You know you can trust me, with anything."
"I know... it's just I promised him I'd never tell anyone."
"Joey, please. You don't have to tell me but, you know you can trust me with this."
"Okay... Jackson... developed a crush on me."
"Right."
"And he started to become really attached to me, and I'm not overreacting he really was. One day, he tried to kiss me and I pulled away. I told him that I accept him completely, but I'm just not into guys like he is."
"Didn't see that coming." I was genuinely surprised.
"And Jackson is... aggressive, you could say. The moment I told him no he freaked out and we had the fight and now we're here."
"Does anybody else know?"
"Just us three now." He leaned his head on my shoulder.
"Why did he come at you today?"
"I don't know I think he was always a little jealous of my friends and stuff." He paused for a moment,"Also he may have heard me talking about us to the guys."
"What?! Joey I told you not to talk about us in public spaces where literally anyone can see or hear!"
"I know I'm sorry! He threatened to tell your dad- but he won't! Seriously he's all talk no action I promise."
I sunk back into his bed, Joey lying down next to me. "He better keep it quiet, Joey." I turned on my side so we were facing each other.
"He will, I'll make sure of it."
We kissed passionately for minutes, our lips and tongues dancing.
"You're kinda sexy all beaten up like this you know?" I giggled.
"Oh really?" Joey moved on top of me and his hands made their way, one up my shirt and one down my pants. He was getting good at this.
