"So, Sophie?" Joe called out to me, I was getting changed, hidden in the corner of the room, he was in the opposite corner siting cross legged on his plaid quilted bed.

"Ya." I called back. I still didn't know if what he'd said was true. Surely he couldn't... love me, right? I mean that's a lot to say after only a few months. And am I even loveable? To my dad sure but, I just can't imagine someone actually loving me, truly. Joey has mentioned nothing of it and is acting all "business as usual" with me, like nothing was ever said.

"I was thinking, um, what do you think about a movie this weekend?" He stuttered through his sentence.

"Like here or?-"

"No, at the cinema."

"With all the guys?"

"No, I was thinking just... us two."

A smile plastered across my face without me realising, I turned to him and leaned on his bed post, "So, like a date?"

"Well, it doesn't have to be- only if you want it to be-"

"Sounds good to me." I sat across from him on his bed. "You pick the movie, surprise me, okay?"

"Alright," Joey was trying to suppress a smile I could see his happiness radiating through him. "So, are you okay Soph? With last night-"

"Let's not, okay?"

"We can talk about it if you want to, you know."

"I know." I smiled. "It was just... my mum." I looked down, "I'm gonna go get something to eat, okay?"

"Sure."

I exited our cozy room and made my way to the year 11 common room, there were always snacks there for anyone to grab. I made a b-line for the wagon wheels and started to nibble.

"Whey!" A group of sweaty boys entered the room. "It's the pussy princess herself!"

I ignored them.

"Could you give us a rating, out of 10, for Seth's effort? Cos damn he rated you highly."

I attempted to leave the room but all 10 of them stopped in front of me. "Just drop it alright?"

"Drop what? My pants? Damn Princess you are keen! Save it for the bedroom!" One of the tall, buff, blonde boys got closer and closer to me.

"Look sweetie, just admit the fact that I'm is the only girl you've every talked to apart from your mother, and you'll never get any action until you're like 30 and have to pay for it." I said with a straight face.

Blondie's face got real red, real quick and all of his friends made huge aw's and started to jump around the place.

"Pussy princess has got bite!"

"I wonder if she's that feisty in the sheets!"

As I power walked out of the room I heard words such as these. More and more immaturity. So. Over. It.

---

Three quick taps on the door, "Come in." A familiar voice welcomed me.

I opened the thick wooden door and closed behind me, hugging my father, there's nothing like a hug from your dad.

"Hi."

"Hi kid, what's going on? Sit, please." Dad sat back in his large leather office chair and I plopped into a chair across from him, his desk dividing us.

"I just wanted to talk." I looked down, I felt unsafe and went straight to my dad, it was like an impulse. Once I got there I didn't know what I was going to say to him.

"Come on! It's rare that I get a special visit from my favourite child-"

"I'm you're only child!"

"And so you get even more of my love." He said with a chuckle. "Come on, what's up? Are your classes okay? I've seen your grades, you're as good as usual, except you know, bio-"

"Biology." I stuck in with a sigh. "It's more just, the boys-"

"The boys? You haven't mentioned anything about this before, have you been hurt, are you feeling uncomfortable?!" And there's he goes being all over protective and wonderful. I can't let him worry.

"Woah slow down! Look, most are fine, weird at first obviously because three quarters of them have never seen a girl apart from their mother, but you know that, I told you how they stare, it's gotten better now of course." I took a breath. "There have, maybe, been a few things said about me that aren't true but-"

"What things? What are they calling you!?" He stood up suddenly like he was going to go in to battle for me.

I retreated. "Omigod! Don't worry nothing nothing really! It's no big deal, you know I can handle myself. I'm gonna go now, I have classes and stuff." I started to back out of the room. "Also I'm going on a date with my roommate Saturday night bye!" Slipping out of the door way I raced to my next class. I knew he wouldn't be keen on me dating my roommate since we, you know, literally live together. But nothing is going to stop me from going on that date.
Also, Joey still hasn't gotten something daring in his life, I still need to figure out what and how to give it to him... I'm just not sure if he's ready, or if I am.
