—Yukine
None of us had really spoken to Hiyori since the incident a few days ago, which is why today I had decided to go and visit her.
As I was about to leave, I overheard Kofuku and Diakoku talking to each other while I was on the stairs.
"Yati still hasn't come back yet?" Kofuku whined. She sounded worried.
"Don't worry about him, my lady. He's a god, he can go where he pleases," Diakoku replied, trying to reassure her.
"It's not the fact that he's gone that worries me. He stayed upstairs that night and wouldn't let Yukine go in there. I heard crying too. You know how Yati's been lately!" Kofuku shouted.
"I'm sure your worry's just in your head, my lady. You needn't worry about that fool," he answered.
I sat down on the stairs and looked down at my feet. Kofuku was right. Each time Yato acted out, I got more and more worried about him. I was scared of stinging him again though so I did my best to keep up a happy act.
After all, if something WAS bothering him, the last thing he needed was me stinging him and having to worry about being blighted.
"I hope you're right," Kofuku whined.
Once I knew it was safe, I walked down the stairs fully, heading toward the door. "Yuki? Have you seen Yati anywhere?" Kofuku asked before I could fully leave.
"No, I'm sorry, I haven't," I replied, looking over at her.
The pink haired god whined in distraught. "Where did he go? He always disappears like that without saying anything," she said.
"Well, I was on my way to go and visit Hiyori. Did you want me to see if I could find him?" I asked.
Kofuku seemed to brighten up a little at my offer. "You'd do that for me, Yuki?" She asked.
I nodded.
She smiled and nodded back. "Yes, please do! And ask why he's been acting so weird lately too!" She yelled.
I laughed a little. "Will do, see you both later," I said then walked out.
'Yato, what have you gotten yourself into this time,' I thought.
While I was on my way to Hiyori's house, I noticed something interesting.
Inside of a tavern was exactly the form I was looking for. Tall and lean, wearing a tracksuit and a silly scarf. My eyebrows furrowed and I marched my way inside. Even though technically I was way too young.
"Hey! Yato!" I yelled.
A little groan came from his sleeping body and he lifted his head slowly. "Ugh.. come on Yukine don't give me that look," he said groggily.
"Is this where you've been this whole time?!" I yelled at him.
Yato grunted and held his head. "A little less yelling, please, Yukine," he groaned.
"Well it wouldn't be a problem if you didn't make such shitty choices all the time," I retorted. "And don't give me any of that "I'm a god, I can do what I want" crap. You have friends and people who are worried about you. So why don't you just fess up already?!" I added.
Yato grabbed one of the cans of beer that lie empty on the counter then started crushing it in his hand. "Chill out, will you? You're gonna sting me," he said.
"Yeah, well if I were in your position, I'd be talking by now," I snapped back at him.
Yato whipped the bottle at a wall and glared at me. "Nothing's wrong with me, alright? I'm fine," he replied.
