Klaus started to tear up. The male's tone became harsher as he pressed it further in. "Where is she."
"Klaus, everything okay?" Draven walked out and saw the scene. Klaus started to sob and whimper. Enraged, Draven walked up to them. His soul went in flames of anger, his mind set on murder, thinking of a million ways to kill him.
"Stay back or she gets it." Draven growled softly.
"He."
"Uncle Al?" Rose peeked her head out. The gun suddenly disappeared, and the man's voice went from ice cold to sugar sweet.
"Hi, sweetie!" He picked her up and spun her around. "How was your day?" "Really tough... I almost got hit by a car, but a little kid saved me! And he walked me home!" Rose beamed with pride.
"Ah, a true gentleman." The devilish man gave a slight smirk.
"Who the fuck are you." Draven was extremely pissed off. How DARE he lay a finger on Klaus, let alone put a gun to his head.
"Ah ah ah ahhh~ No cursing, ol' timer~ There's a kid here." Al gave a slight smirk. Klaus trembled and looked at Rose, just wanting to keep her safe.
Draven took a deep breath and tried approaching it a different way. "Rose, who is this man?" Rose looked to him and smiled.
"He's my uncle! Papa Nick said that he's my.... my..." Rose's face scrunched up in concentration. Al smiled and looked to the two. "I'm Tom's brother. Well, step brother."
The two lovers tensed up. Klaus couldn't keep his mouth shut as he blurted out one thing.
"You can't have her. Nick and Jay already have custody of her." Al looked at Klaus. He chuckled softly and took his hand, gently kissing it. "Milady, if you think Tom is really that low to send me in as a spy, you're absolutely right. But I'm not here because of him. Your dear ol' Nicky sent me~" Draven tilted his head softly in confusion. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go meet him now. He's done with work." Gently setting Rose down, he went back to his car. "Rose, love, get your things. We're going back to Papa's." Rose was already in the bedroom they all shared, grabbing her back pack and her favorite plush doll. She ran up to Draven and Klaus, hugging the two. "Bye!!" She ran to Al, and they vanished.
"....." "...... Call Nick. We need to sort this out." Draven nodded softly. He held Klaus tightly. "If he puts another gun to your head I'm strangling him." Klaus stayed silent. "...... I'll finish dinner...." He left to the kitchen. Draven looked back to him, seeing him slowly stir the pot. His mind plagued him with awful thoughts.
'He pushed you away' 'He's upset at you' 'He doesn't want you'
Shoving his feelings down, he shakily went to the phone and dialed Nick.
~
Nick smiled as he saw Rose run up to him. He knelt down and held his arms out to her, catching her as she plowed into him full force. "Papa!!" "Hello, love!" The two cuddled as Al walked in the house. He whistled lowly. "He's got a grand place." Nick stood up, carrying Rose in his arms. "Yes, he does... Too many rooms with nothing to do in them though." Al nodded.
Nick gently set Rose down. "Did you finish your homework this time?" "Almost! I only have a tiny bit more to write!" Nick nodded. "Did you eat dinner?" "No... Uncle Al picked me up before I had dinner." "Ah. Well, it's a good thing the chef is making up something." Nick smiled. "Finish your homework, and then we'll eat." Rose nodded and left to her room. Nick yawned softly. "Thank you, Al. For picking her up and helping me." Al nodded and took off his fedora. "Anything for a pal from Gatsby's." Nick yawned softly. "Mind helping me with the rest of the paper work? I got kind of lost with the last part."
Al chuckled softly. "Two years, and you still get stuck on that one thing."
"At least I'm improving." Nick puffed out his cheeks softly. "Better than when I had no clue on what to do." Al nodded in agreement.
The phone suddenly rang loudly, echoing through the empty halls of the grand abode. "...." Nick went to get it, but Sam got a hold of it first.
"Hello?" A few minutes of silence pursued befor e Sam gave the phone to Nick. "For you. You have a lot of explaining to do, according to them." Nick tensed up. "I-I told them I'd be a day late with the payment... I explained everything to them...." He shakily took the phone. "H-Hello?"
"Nick?"
"Yes?"
"Nick!! Where's Rose, is she with you??"
"Draven, she's in her room. What's wrong?"
"Some fucking idiot came in and put a gun to my husband's head!!"
"....." Nick gave a quick glance to Al and sighed softly. "I'll call you back..."
"Be safe..." The two hung up. Nick turned to Al. "Al, are you fucking kidding me? A gun? In front of a child?!"
"You know my nature, baby--"
"Don't call me that..."
Al growled softly and pinned Nick to the wall. "I call you whatever I want."
Nick trembled, trying not to show the fear in his eyes. "Rose could have been hurt! Worse, she could have--"
"Do you not trust me. Is that it." Al gently choked him. Nick trembled. "Stop it....." "You know your payment to me is overdue. And I want what is mine."
Nick started to tear up. "I'm not yours... You can't do this to me.... you promised...." Nick started to cry. Al looked down to him.
"... you're such a puppy. That's what makes you so vulnerable, and so irresistible.~"
Nick kicked Al in the crotch and ran to Rose's room, closing and locking the doors. Rose looked up from her paper and pencil. "Papa, what's wrong?"
Nick trembled and slid to the floor. Harsh knocks came from the door. Rose quickly ran to Nick. "P-Papa!!" She cried out softly. They huddled into each other, trying to ignore the obscenities coming from outside.
