Your P.O.V, 1 year after the end of the last chapter
This past year had been a good one. You had been sent on a number of missions after your leg recovered, and almost all of them had been successful. With Obi-Wan and Anakin at your side, you were unstoppable. You were very happy with how your life was going, but there was one thing that was on your conscience that made you worry: your's and Obi-Wan's relationship. Yes, things were going strong- you looked at each other the same way now as you did when you first confessed your love for the other, and Obi-Wan didn't hold you with any less love than the start of your relationship, you just hated that you had to keep it a secret. Your relationship with him consisted of stolen glances, secret smiles, the occasional hug, or maybe (if you were lucky) a quick peck on the cheek in passing. It seemed like the life of a Jedi was designed around not having attachments. You were always either training, on a mission, grabbing a quick bite to eat, or sleeping. Other Jedi weren't allowed in other Jedi's living quarters, and curfews were strictly enforced. Some 'relationship'. But you stayed optimistic. You were lucky to have a gentleman like Obi-Wan any day.
Today was a rare day- it was a political holiday on Coruscant, so you had the day off. Obi-Wan had reserved a meditation room to have a sort of picnic, just the two of you. You had just finished doing your hair for the special occasion:The final touch was to put on some makeup. You never wore makeup, except for VERY special occasions. Seeing as you were so busy most of the time, this picnic was classified as a special occasion. You took out an almost brand new makeup bag and put on the bare minimum, but just enough for it to be noticeable. After putting on the finishing touches, you stood up, clipped your lightsaber to your belt (force of habit), and left your room. You walked through the halls with a spring in your step. After a couple minutes of walking, you got to the hall of meditation rooms. After awkwardly peering into some of the rooms, you saw Obi-Wan stressfully setting up two plates of food, setting out flowers and lighting candles. You smiled to yourself at how much time he actually put into this. He turned around to adjust the blanket, and his eyes widened when he say you standing in the doorway. "Oh! Y/N, you're early!" He exclaimed, chuckling. He walked towards you and embraced you in a hug, kissing the top of your head. You smiled, because he smelled like cinnamon; his usual. "I wasn't sure what you preferred, so I got some pasta and salad. Or if you don't want that, I can run to the dining hall and get you and sandwich..." he rambled, motioning to the dinner set up on the blanket under the two of you. "Obi-Wan, pasta and salad is perfect. I didn't know how much time you'd actually put into this..." you said, walking around. He had gotten a bouquet of your favorite flowers, pink peonies. He also had honeysuckle scented candles, which puzzled you. "Why honeysuckle?" You questioned, picking up the flower bouquet. He walked closer to you and brushed your hair out of your eyes. "It reminds me of you. Mostly because of-" "Naboo." You finished, smiling. "Would you like to eat?" He asked, sitting down. You nodded and sat down across from him. You started eating, and were actually surprised by the quality of the food. You ate and had a lighthearted conversation, Obi-Wan cracking jokes and you doubling over, and spilling your salad on the ground. "Y/N, I thought I would get you something, since we've been, well, together for a year...." he said sheepishly, reaching into his pocket.
He pulled out a necklace (pictured above) and held it lightly in his hand. You took it from him and stared at it in awe. "Obi, oh my goodness." You said, tearing up slightly. It was simple, but since Jedi weren't very materialistic, it was a big gesture for Obi-Wan. You suddenly remembered a gift that you got Obi-Wan, but had forgotten it in your room. "Obi, I got you something too- but I left it in my room. Can I run and get it?" You Asked, standing up. He also looked surprised, but he smiled. "Of course, darling." He said. Your heart soared- it made you giggle like a little girl when he called you Obi-Wan. You smiled at him and fastened the necklace around your neck, and winked at him. You left the room and turned towards the direction of your living quarters, but ran into a wall. Unfortunately, that wall was a stern looking Mace Windu. "M-master Windu, can I help you?" You asked, shaking. "End it. Now." He said, glaring down at you. "But.." you said. "No buts. Do you want to leave the Jedi order? The people that saved you from being homeless on Naboo? Do you want to give up the only life you've ever known? Then I suggest you end it by tomorrow, or I will end it for you- and trust me, you don't want me to have to end it for you." He said fiercely, prodding you with his finger. You nodded, a blank expression on your face. Mace Windu swiftly turned around and left, leaving you in the empty hallway with an expectant Obi-Wan. You clasped the necklace in your hand, and fell to your knees. You had a decision to make.
