Chapter-5

Max's P.O.V

"You did what?!" I exclaimed looking at Harvey surprised.
"Um...I kind of well...wenttoherhouseandheardherlisteningtoonemoredayinlove." Harvey blabbered scratching the back of his neck.
"Huh?" I said confused.
"I went to her house and heard her listening too One More Day In Love." Harvey said looking at me.
"What? No way! So you're telling me the freak's a fan?"
"Don't call her that!" Harvey snapped.
I was a bit taken aback. Woah Harvey's become overprotective.

"Sit down class." Mrs Hillary said loudly. I gave Harvey a weird look and walked back to my seat . Annie wasn't here yet. Suddenly Annie and Sarah walked in .
"What?! He came to your house-" Annie started but was cut off by Mrs Hillary.
"I'm sure whatever you have to say is very important Miss Edwards but we have a class going on here." She said sternly. Annie turned red and quietly walked up to her seat next to me.
"So class today we will be doing a project on Animal Adaptation. I have divided the groups and there will be 3 people in each group. So the groups are - Jesy Nelson, Andy William and Matt Donovan in group A , Max Mills, Annie Edwards and Tom Payne in group B, Harvey Mills , Sarah Gilbert and Ashlie Pascoe in group C.....' And it went on. I didn't know whether I was happy about the fact that Annie was in my group or not. For some reason I was nervous which was not like me at all!

Annie's P.O.V

Oh great! I was in a group with the cutest guy in class and the most insufferable guy in class.
I was happy that I was with Tom, that would give me the time to try and get out of the 'friend zone' but with Max around that would be pretty difficult cause he'll just be third wheeling and irritating both of us.
Tom headed over to our table with his textbook and our project guidelines. "Ok Annie, Max let's start!" Tom said . It was cute how he was so enthusiastic about everything. "Yay! Another boring project. I was thinking maybe you and Annie could do all the work and I could just chill?" Max said stretching putting his legs up. Ugh he was so annoying.
"You wish. " I said rolling my eyes. He just gave me that annoying wink of his.
"Do whatever you want max but just remember this is 5 marks of internal assessment." Tom pointed out .
"Yeah yeah tommo lets get started." Max said sitting up.
"Ok so I was thinking maybe we could make a cool border and how about sticking some cool printouts?" I suggested.
"Yeah and I could get some facts." Tom said looking at me.
"Yeah and I could get colour pencils." Max said .
I gave him an impatient look. "Colour pencils? Really?"
He shrugged,"yeah they come in real handy."
I ignored him and moved a tad bit closer to Tom to show him some facts in my textbook. He leaned in a bit and I'm pretty sure I was turning pink. He smelt like after-shave and cinnamon. " These facts are great Annie! When did you note them down?'' Tom said smiling down at me appreciatively. I smiled,'' Mrs Hillary was dictating them and I thought I should write them down." He stared at me for a moment and I thought he was going to say something when we were interrupted. Max cleared his throat loudly. "Well um..great.. So biology is almost over I think you should go back to your seat now Tom." He said coldly. Just like him to ruin the moment.
"Yeah I'll go. Let's work on this later." Tom said giving me a small smile and walking off . When he went, I gave a sigh. I had officially not made a fool of myself in front of Tom. Score! I turned to see Max glaring at me.
"What? " I asked.
"Nothing. Nothing at all." But the looks he gave me and Tom for the rest of History period were less than comforting.

Harvey's P.O.V

"So um was Mrs Valerie really mad at you for not submitting you're homework?" I asked Sarah, who was busy fiddling with her pencil. I didn't know how to talk to her anymore . All I really wanted to know was whether she was a fan or not . But before I could do that I had to be nice to her, if not nice than atleast civil?
"Pretty much why do you even care?" She said not looking at me.
"I just-"
"Hiii Harvey! Hi loser." Ashlie said sitting down next to me. Way too close to me and I noticed Sarah tense a bit.
"Hey Ash." I said casually shifting away.
"So the project is about plants right?" She said giving me one one of her flirty smiles.
"Actually it's about Animal Adaption." Sarah said rolling her eyes a bit .
"No one asked you loser." Ashlie snapped.
"Okay then...." Sarah said awkwardly.
I felt bad for her. I tried to give her an apologetic look but she just ignored me.
"I was thinking lets just ditch the project and do something more fun. What do you say Harvs?" Ashlie said winking. I inwardly cringed. Sarah was giving us both weird looks and I just wanted the ground to swallow me up. I cleared my throat," As much fun as that would be we have a marked project to do Ash...how about fun later?" .
"Fine. Then come to my place after school today we'll work on the project. Oh and you too loser." She said looking at Sarah in an intimidating manner. Sarah groaned,"this is going to be a long day."
