I wake up to a smell of sizzling bacon smoke filling the air with eggs and orange juice. It just smelled like a country home with breakfast in the warm air.

"Morning." Corbin says with his soft eyes and sparkling smile.

"Hi. Breakfast smells really good." I cleared my voice, having that disgusting morning taste in my mouth.

"Ok you gotta eat really quick or else we'll never get to the pool."

"We have all day." I replied

"Actually we don't."

"How come?" I asked.

"Because we have some zombie killing to do." He has a devilish smirk on his lips just waiting to laugh evilly.

"Umm...why?"

"Huh, I don't want to get eaten!"

"Well you can't just decide that we're going to go and kill zombies! What if theres more than a hundred of them?! We have to be here." I exclaimed

"But what if we run out of food? We have to go to the store, get it, then get eaten?!" He raised his voice even louder. He grit his teeth together trying to hold back his yell.

"It's a two-year supply of food I think we can survive." I pull the covers to the side and lift my lazy butt off the comfy bed. A head rush hits me just like gravity pulling me down under ground.

"But if we don't do something now the zombie population will grow!" Corbin slammed the spatula beside the frying pan. He turned to look down upon my face. I could see that he isn't afraid to argue with me all day and he certainly isn't going to back down.

"Fine. Do what you want to do. Just be careful." I walk towards the exercise room almost crying. Red hot tears run down my face slowly as I try to hide and listen to the door close. All I hear is footsteps walk back and forth as I hear a roll of growling thunder above the clouds.

Fear wells up inside of me. I sink into the darkness of a corner not hearing a sound. I get the feeling Corbin is worried about me. I can't help, but feel worried about him as well.

"Corbin?" I was searching for an answer. I start raising my voice. "Corbin? Are you there? Corbin!" I start to cry more. "Is he gone?" I thought.

"June? Look, I'm sorry. C-Could you please come back so-so I can hug yea?" Corbin softly stutters.

I come out of the shadows and see Corbin's face tipping over trying to see my face.

"I'm really sorry. You know I would never try to hurt you." Corbin said with his gentle eyes. I cross my arms and bow my head down trying not to get lost in his sharp hazel eyes.

"I know you just-it's just-it scares me when you yell because I feel like you're gonna leave me." I start to mix up my words trying not to say the wrong thing. I cross my arms putting my head down, trying not to make eye contact.

"No...don't..." He chokes on his breath trying not to cry. "...I promise you, I won't get hurt."

I nod my head feeling his hands on the top fat part of my arms leaning in for a hug. My arms are still crossed, but how can I resist? I unfold my arms and wrap my arms around him.

"Don't leave the building unless I call you for help. Is that alright?" Corbin puts his chin on my head.

"No." (I have the right side of my head on his stomach.)

"Why not?"

"Because if you leave now, the bacon will burn."

He chuckles at my words. "I'm not leaving now." his smile tells me everything about him, what he thinks about, and it tells me his secrets.
