I had returned to my complex the next morning, the daunting night before slowly fading into dusk as I approached my apartment door. As the door opened under my hand, my ear perked up to listen to my surroundings. Nothing.  BaekHee lie asleep upstairs in the Queen bed that Baekhyun and I had shared not even two nights ago. Her hair sprawled around the surrounding area while her mouth was open and allowed shallow breathes to pass.

I had stared at the cupboard. Baekhyun was in there and he knew I was here. My hand wrapped itself around the knob before I let myself fling it open, taken several steps back as I did so. It was empty. My stomach might as well have fallen into my bowels as panic began to eat away at flesh of my forearms.

The apartment was empty besides BaekHee lying dead asleep upstairs.  Baekhyun was gone.

Where would a dead person possibly go? It's a little early for Halloween but then again, it's about a week away. My stomach growled as if it were hungry, but I knew that was just paranoia. Paranoia concerning where had Baekhyun gone? What was he doing? What are people saying?

But I already had the excuse to go out today. I was meeting Jongin and this would give me the oppurtunity to seek Baekhyun out.

I had dressed simply as the weather outside had picked up to be rather cold. I had scribbled a letter to BaekHee, telling her I had gone out for a few hours and that I would return soon enough. I had driven to a small cafe that JongIn had suggested only to find he already had a table.

"Hey Y/N" Jongin offered a sweet grin before standing and pulling me into an open bear hug. Jongin smelt like the summer breeze, he smelt like how you felt on vacation. He smelt carefree.

Typically I wouldn't let anyone hug me on the second meeting, but something about this entire week had me clinging to Jongin, never wanting to let him go.

"Jongin hi, how are you doing?" Jongin and I had slipped into comfortable smalltalk, we both ordered coffees and between the two of us shared a small slice that was advertised in the window.

"I hate to pry but is there anything bothering you?" Finally, someone bothered to ask. I wanted to spill my guts onto the table so nothing could be hidden, but I have a feeling that Jongin knowing my dead husband is in my house wouldn't go down to well.

"My sister-in-law's have some issues at the moment and I'm still just in a state of shock" Jongin dropped his head guiltily before biting the left corner of his bottom lip.

"I'm really sorry, I feel like I've been taking advantage of you in a time of need. I apologise" Jongin began to stand up, his head shaking as he apologised profusely.

However, My shaking hand wouldn't let him get away as it was placed on his own.

"Jongin, don't leave me" my voice was laced with desperation, I couldn't be left to rot in the arms of a monster.

"I won't" he whispered with a small smile.
