Chapter 20

The red and yellow breezy Autumn sooner turned to the white winter I was looking forward too.

On the 17 of December, I sat on the couch a cup of coffee in my grip as I sat and watched whatever was on tv.

"Honey, are you almost done writing? I would love to go out and do something" I asked to Paul who was in the other room writing. Immediately I sat back down since my large belly was a lot of weight to stand with. I hadn't felt well this morning, and now I questioned this pain.

"Paul?"

Annoyed he walks out of the room and raises his eyebrows.

"What darling?" He rest against the door way his arms folded across his chest.

"I think I'm going into labor."

Paul chuckled at first thinking I was joking but soon stiffened as he saw me standing in the middle of the room in pain.

"Ok." He said shakily. "Let's go"

He grabbed a small bag at the front of the room and held my hand. We were off to have a baby.

"Push!" The doctor yelled up to me.

I pushed with all my might and soon I heard a baby crying.

"It's a boy." The nurse smiled as she held the bloody baby up in the air.

Paul had tears in his eyes and soon gave my hand a squeeze to show his happiness.

My body relaxed as I took in deep breathes.

"Ok, get ready for the next one."

Both Paul and I looked at the doctor.

"The next one?" We exclaimed.

"Yes, it's twins, now I need you to push."

I started the process over again.

In a few hours, Paul and I quietly laid on the hospital bed each with a baby.

"They are so beautiful..." I mumbled in a hushed voice.

"They are."

"What do you want to name them?" Paul asked staring into the eyes of our little boy.

"I like Winston Richard Harold for the boy." Amelia stated as she played with the few hairs on the little girls head.

"I love that, what about the girl?"

"Charlotte Belle"

Paul smiled.

"Those are both great names. I love them."

Paul leaned in and kissed my forehead.

An hour or so earlier the boys and girlfriends came and visited us and just a few minutes ago my mother came by to say hello.

"Do you think my sisters will come?" I asked staring into the babies eyes.

"I don't know love, but it's alright, your mother came and see and that's what you really wanted right?"

I nodded.

After about two days, we left the hospital and proceeded to our house. The first few nights were rough, waking up every night to go calm the babies, but soon it became a habit and I wasn't as tired anymore.

Christmas morning was a very relaxing day for me.

"Good Morning love. Happy Christmas." Paul said smiling as he held Winston in his arms.

He kissed me gently on the lips.

"And a Merry Christmas to you too."

I kissed Charlotte on her forehead. She made a little noise.

"So today we are going over to John's house at 3, and we'll have dinner at 5. Julian will be excited to see the babies."

Paul placed the baby down in a carriage and took a sip of the coffee I had prepared for him.

"I thought we could go for a stroll through the park."

"That sounds wonderful." I stated.

I got up and placed Charlotte in the other carriage. In mere seconds we were out the door.
