Chapter 28

My feet led me to Central Park, which really wasn't a good idea, since it started to get dark outside although it wasn't even 7 o' clock.

"Gosh it's so beautiful here."

Looking up under the trees I saw a beautiful pinkish sky filled with transparent clouds. They floated through the sky, and looked as if they were huge wads of pink cotton candy.

"Excuse me ma'am."

A little girl tugged on my dress.

She was tiny about 4 feet, with two strawberry blonde braids that rest on her shoulders. Her dress is very neat, looked as if it had just been ironed. I looked at her and it reminded me of the babies I left at home. I wiped away a tear from the corner of my eyes as I bended down.

"Yes sweetheart." I stared lovingly.

"That man told me that you were his, that he wanted to see you. He said that the three of us could find my mommy."

On the park bench sat the real David smiling widely at me.

"Uh, darling here come with me." I picked her up and held her tight to me.

"You and I can find your mommy. That man will be no help."

She smiled and nodded, her pigtails bouncing as my steps quickened.

"Where are we going Amelia? And why so quick?" A familiar voice asked.

"David, get away-"

"I'm John."

I turned around and saw John who looked very concerned as we walked quickly down the path.

"Is David here?" He questioned looking around him.

"HA!" David came up behind John and stabbed his arm.

John shrieked, loud enough for anyone to here.

"Listen here John, leave her for me to take or I'll kill ye'"

"Kill me." I stated.

The little girl was crying but luckily behind me was her mother. I handed her the kid and told her I was looking for her, to which she didn't respond happily to. She scooped up the child and ran away.

"Oh so you want me to kill you and let Lennon get away?"

"Yes, he's important in this world, I'm not. I can disappear and it won't matter to anyone."

I heard sirens wailing in the distance, getting louder and louder, so in a crunch for time, David stabbed me, it felt like a few times but after the 5th time I couldn't tell. After a minute or so of stabbing her ran off into the distance.

I tried to yell but nothing came out.

"Shhh..." John whispered. He grabbed my hand lightly just so we knew we weren't alone.

I awoke in a familiar situation, in a hospital, with white lights shinning on me.

The hospital room was empty, besides the person next to me, who was an smelly 50 year old man who had a heart attack.

"Mrs. Witherell-"

"It's Mrs. Lancaster."

"Well, ok- uh- after the stabbing, we hate to say this but uh- the unborn baby was pronounced dead.

"I-I-I-" I couldn't speak.

"Mrs. Lancaster?"

"Uh-"

I started to cry and couldn't stop.
