MUNIFA

Hey guys... sorry I haven't posted in a while. Phone isshhh. I promise to drop 2 episodes today In Sha Allah. Hope y'all are doing great? #happyholidays

I've always wanted to be a medical doctor right from my primary school days. After I wrote my UTME exams, I passed with 223 so I waited for post-UTME. I applied Medicine in the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. I sat for the post-UTME then the results came out a month later and I was given admission to study Pharmacy instead of the Medicine I applied for.

"Bappa I'm going to apply for a change of course if I resume" I told my father with a serious face while he looked at me with a pitiful face and he said to me "Munifa come and sit close to me let's talk." I moved closer to him and sat on the golden fluffy rug in the sitting room while he was on the sofa and he held my hand tight. "Whatever was meant for you never misses you and whatever misses you was never meant for you. I really want you to become a doctor so you could treat me and your mother when we get old but it's unfortunate that you didn't get the admission to study medicine and got pharmacy instead. Pharmacy isn't all that bad. And you see, when you become a pharmacist you could produce drugs to cure people's illnesses...." and on and on he went until he was able to convince me to study pharmacy.

He fast forward to this day, here I was in my fourth year studying Pharmaceutical sciences. One more year to go. I can't just wait to get over school. The ride has been pretty rough but Alhamdulillah I was able to overcome the obstacles that have come my way.

I finished my practicals around 5:15pm and I was heading home, walking like I was carrying 70kg of load. Just then a black Honda Civic 2006 model parked beside me. "Munifa?" A voice called out with a tone of  uncertainty. I reluctantly turned to look inside the car and it was Salim, Ya Ahmad's friend. "Salim right?" I asked. "Yh. Are you going out?" Of course dummy. I'm walking towards North gate what do you expect.  I thought. "Yes." I answered quickly. "Ok. Why don't you come so I could drop you off?" Ohh thank God I couldn't even bear to think of the journey to my apartment. "Alright thank you" I smiled and entered.

The journey home wasn't too quiet because Salim tried to come up with conversation. "It seems I know you somewhere. I don't know but your face kinda looks familiar. I just can't point out where I've seen you." He said on our way home. "Apart from the other day with Ya Ahmad?" I asked surprised. "Yes" he confidently said turning to look at me and turning almost immediately to face the road. "Well you live in Abuja, I live in Abuja so you might have seen me somewhere." I said eager to end the convo before we could get home so I could go inside immediately. "Well, I guess maybe." He replied turning and parking right in front of my apartment. "I think I should get going I'm really tired right now. Thanks for the ride. It was nice meeting you again" I said and started packing my bag. I was about to open the door when he said "can I at least have your contact so we could talk?" "Ok." I said while putting my hand forward and he passed his phone. I was way to tired to object plus he was beginning to annoy me. I couldn't wait to get inside. I gave him my number and we said goodbye then he left.

Salim's POV
When we got to her house she got out of the car and leaned forward to say thank you. She left after saying thank you. I kept staring at her. I knew I had seen her somewhere. I just know I know this face. I told Ahmad on our way "I think I know this girl somewhere but I just can't say where." "Kai Salim you don't know her." He objected. "Wlh I'm serious" I said trying hard to think of where I knew her. "Toh naji. Figure out where you know her and lemme know. Just know this, she's outta your league." He said laughing.

I dropped Ahmad at home later on and I went home. Still thinking of Munifa. I called Ahmad "how far?" He asked immediately he picked the call. "Dan Allah I need Munifa's number." And he immediately started laughing "what would you do with it?" He asked with suspicion. "I just want to talk with her" "I don't have it but I'll ask Yusrah" he said. "Alright then I'll be waiting" I said and hung up.

I kept thinking of Munifa throughout the drive home. I just knew I had seen her somewhere but I can't just point out where. I kept thinking.
