Compromise

Jaylin has been thinking about the shrink idea. She's horrified. She did some research on them and the thought of it made her skin crawl. Now all she had to do was tell Ms. Hilary her decision. As Jaylin sat on her bed, staring at the computer screen, she shut her laptop and shut her eyes.

Knocks at her door made her eyes pop open and Greyson was standing at the door frame.

"You really need to start waiting for me to say 'come in' from now on," she laughed.

He nodded. "So how's the decision making coming?"

"Good," she said looking at her comforter. "I don't wanna go."

"There's nothing wrong with that. We'll just compromise with my mom," he shrugged.

Jaylin nodded, but was still upset with herself that she didn't have the strength to get the help she needed. Greyson sat beside her on the bed and held her.

"It's okay, Jay," he whispered.

"So, um," she stood. "Where is your mom?"

"Work," he shrugged.

She nodded.

"Jaylin, I'm sorry this all happened to you," he stood.

She shook her head. "I'm okay."

"You try to be, but you're not," he held her arm.

She pulled her arm away and left the room. "I'm gonna call Ms. Hilary."

She locked herself in the bathroom and dialed Ms. Hilary's number.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey, um, I've been thinking and reading online... I don't want to go. I can't. I'm sorry," Jaylin said.

"Alright then, you have to be more verbal, okay?" Ms. Hilary said.

"I'll try. Thank you for all you've done to help me," she said.

"Anytime. I have to go now."

"Bye."

"Bye sweetie."

Jaylin hung up and walked outside the bathroom. She heard all of the boys downstairs and went to say hi. She hugged all of them and told them the news. All the while Beau watched her every moved and started falling for her more.

Zach caught Beau staring and slapped his arm. "Snap out of it."

"How?" He whispered.

Zach went to say something but knocks at the front door surprised everyone. Jaylin opened the door and there stood Trey. A man no one wanted to see.
