Jungkook's pov:
I couldn't believe that he was the one who killed Haeyeon's parents and nobody told me about it. If they did, I could've at least persuaded Haeyeon to not find out the truth.
How am I going to tell Haeyeon?! Should I just go with the flow or tell her the truth? But if I tell her the truth, she would feel betrayed and hate me for life. But if I don't, she'll still find out about it sooner or later. Maybe I should just go with the flow. Who knows maybe she'll put that aside and forget about finding out the truth.
I thought about what I was going to do when I meet her the next day. Whether I should tell the truth or just go with the flow. I then decided to go with the flow. I didn't get enough sleep that nights and went to meet her.
We arranged a meeting at the cafe near our houses. I went to the cafe earlier to freshen myself up and to think harder about my decision although instinctively I know that it's wrong.
Haeyeon's pov:
When I got to the cafe, I found Jungkook already sitting there, starring out of the window in deep thoughts. I knew something was wrong because he looked like he didn't sleep for ages.
I sat down opposite him and it took him quite some time to snap out of what he was thinking to notice that I was sitting opposite him. He faked a smile and said, "Hello. I didn't know you were here."
"Why are you here so early?"
"I was thinking about something."
"What are you thinking about?"
"Well, I was thinking of asking you a question." * I knew he wouldn't tell me.*
"What question?"
"Do you believe in fate?"
"Fate? Well I guess so. Why do you ask though?"
"Just curious. Also when I leave because of some urgent stuff, do you think we will get to see each other ever again?? "
"Why are you asking me all these questions for?! Is something going to happen?"
"No. Nothing's going to happen. I was just asking to see your reaction.*laughs softly*"
I stared at him. Doubting everything he said about testing my reaction. Something must have happened for him to say those words.
"So what are we going to do today?" trying to get my attention away from what he said a moment ago.
"I'm not sure... after having all the clues and all, I have no idea what to do next. Maybe we could find where my last house was at??"
"Sure. Do you have an address or something??"
"Yeah."
"Okay then let's go."
We headed to the address listed on the paper that Mrs Shin gave us yesterday and found an abandoned house. It was built in a deserted place. We took a look inside the house and a strong pungent hit us. It smelled like a piece of rag that hasn't dried yet and kept indoors. The interior of the house was amazingly huge and classy. Surprisingly, I had no memories of this place. That must be why I don't feel the pain in my head.
We carried on venturing into the house, trying to turn on the lights but sadly, the electricity was out. Luckily, there was a flashlight in one of the drawers. The sunlight too helped us see so it wasn't too dark.
We headed upstairs and into a room. There was a table with a huge pile of paper on it. I went forward and went through all the papers to find a piece of clue that may lead me to another clue or person, but to no avail. I looked through the whole room and only found scraps of paper that had seemed to be in this apartment for ages.
We carried on to the next room and this time, it was a bedroom with a king size bed and another study table. I looked through the papers and books on the table and found a picture. It was a family picture. It looked similar to the one I had in my locket. However, there was another picture behind it. It was a picture of a lady carrying a baby and two guys standing side by side.
Just then, another memory hit me.
<<Memory>>
Everything was fuzzy. There was a figure holding a camera, as if trying to take a picture. I turned around and found myself being carried by a lady and just then, someone said, "1,2,3!"
I could hear the camera click and I looked to the direction. There were two guy figures hovering over the camera to look at the picture and someone said, "You have nice photo taking skills, Jungseok!! Maybe next time, you can own a photography shop and help people take pictures. It can be called, Jeon Jungseok photography shop for all."
The two people started to laugh and the memory started to flicker and fade away.
<<End of Memory>>
'Jeon Jungseok?! That must be the person in the picture's name. But his surname is Jeon, just like Jungkook's. Can it be... . No it can't be. Right? I can't jump into conclusions. I have to keep searching for evidence.'
As soon as I got back my composure, I found myself in Jungkook's arms. He looked at me and asked, "Are you okay, Haeyeon? Is it another memory again?"
"I'm fine. Yes it's just another memory. I got to keep looking for clues. Oh yeah, I found a picture. Look."
I showed the picture to Jungkook and he looked shock for a moment. I quickly placed the picture into my pocket and headed back to the table to look for more clues. While looking through the papers, I stumbled through a piece of paper. It was filled with blood and a piece of paper was attached to it. I couldn't move after reading through it. It was a death note.
