Giselle came into the living room and asked her parents about her outfit. She was wearing a long sleeve white blouse under a navy cardigan, with a skirt that was red and blue and black plaid. It was her school uniform. She paired it with white converse sneakers.
"Does it look okay?" She asked her mother and father.
"It looks great." JD smiled and Veronica nodded in agreement. He went out the door to make it clear it was time to go.
"We gotta go though, grab your bag." Veronica said so Elle grabbed her backpack while Veronica grabbed her purse and jacket.
JD was getting his keys to the door when one of his neighbors came out of their apartment. "Hey handsome," The bleach blonde said, pressing herself against him. "You know, I was hoping we could get together again." She twirled a lock of damaged hair around her finger as Veronica and Elle came out of the apartment.
"Who's this?" Veronica asked, her voice very annoyed from seeing her fiancé pressed to another girl.
"I'm Kristen. You two must be JD's sister and niece?" The blonde asked.
"This is my fiancé Veronica and our daughter Giselle." JD introduced his family as he pushed Kristen off him.
"Oh, you didn't tell me you were engaged last time we went out." Kristen said. "Or that you had a kid."
"When was the last time you went out?" Veronica asked, more to JD than Kristen.
"We just went out a few weeks ago. That was the third or fourth time." Kristen replied.
"That was before Elle's mother and I got back together. We aren't seeing each other again." JD stormed off, Elle trailing behind him and Veronica staying back for a second.
"Stay the fuck away from JD." She hissed at the bleach blonde, pushing the girl backwards a bit before catching up with JD and Elle. She got in the passenger seat before going off. "One-night stands? Really? That girl lives in the same building as you and you saw her more than once!"
"She kept coming to see me. I had no idea when I'd be able to get back together with you, I took the only other fuck I had." JD clutched the steering wheel tightly.
"Oh? So, I'm just a lay to you?" Veronica snorted. "Just another fucking notch in your belt?" Veronica asked, folding her arms.
"You know that isn't true." JD grit his teeth.
"No. I don't." She responded.
"Veronica, I just asked you to fucking marry me last night!" JD yelled, overwhelming the pleas of Elle in the backseat. She was begging them to stop but she was much too quiet to be heard. It was as if, in that moment, she disappeared and neither of them noticed her.
"Do you want to marry me, Jason?" Veronica asked in an annoyed tone.
"Fuck! Of course, I do! I wouldn't have asked you to marry me if I didn't want to marry you! I love you!" JD shouted.
"I'm sure you said that to that bitch too!" Veronica cried. When JD pulled the car to the side of the road, Elle yelped in fear but again, it was either unheard or ignored by her parents.
"Don't you fucking say that! Don't say what you think I said! I don't fucking lie, Veronica! Not to you!" He screamed.
"Ich lüge bullets, Jason." Veronica hissed.
"Oh, for fucks sake! We're back to that!? It was nine fucking years ago Veronica!" JD kept yelling. "It's over and they're dead!"
"Yes, we're back to that! You killed them! I killed them! Because you lied to me!" Veronica shouted.
