Brady and I have managed to get back on track, turns out he couldn't answer me the other day because he fell asleep, signature Brady. Today we were gonna FaceTime after I got back from dance.
"That was perfect!" My best friend Claire says. I met Claire on my second day here when I auditioned for the dance competition team. We instantly clicked once the teacher said "Dance like your celebrity crush is out there," and we both yelled out Shawn Mendes.
Right now Claire was helping me get my jumps higher for my solo. For now, my intention was to perform to "Waving Through a Window" from Dear Evan Hansen.
"Hey Gen it's almost 5:30, don't you have to be home soon?" Claire reminds me. "You're so right," I said rushing to get my shoes on. I run out to my mom's car with my bag slung on my shoulder holding my jazz shoes and water bottle.
"How was it honey?" Mom asked starting the car. "Oh it was great, yeah I'm super excited." The ten minute drive home felt like ten seconds, I wanted to see Brady again, but I was nervous. I ran up the steps of my house and threw all of my stuff on the ground. Just as I sat in front of my vanity a familiar tone erupted from my phone. "Brady 💜😘 wants to FaceTime"
I answer shakily and tug at my ponytail.

"Hey G! I miss you so much!"
Genna
"Aw B, you don't even know . I've made friends and all, but like, they just don't understand me sometimes."
"I get it, Coleen's been on my back trying to get me to do more shows, but they're not as fun without you."
"Oh my god, you know how I had that meeting with a talent scout, guess what! They found me a couple of managers to choose from!"
"Oh my god G! I always knew you were so talented."
We talked for a couple of hours talking about the past week and everything we missed. Maybe long distance isn't so bad. Once we hung up, I showered and unpacked the last of my boxes. Just as I folded up the last box I hear,"Gen! Come down for dinner!" My mom yelled.
I sat at the table and began digging into my food until I get cut off by, "So, we have some good news!" My dad said. Uh oh, last time this happened it wasn't good news.
"Since it doesn't feel as 'homey' as we're used to, the Tutton's already talked to us about having us over for Thanksgiving!"
"No way," I squealed. Mama smiled," Yes, dear. And Coleen asked that we keep it a surprise for Brady so it's even more special." Oh he's gonna be so happy! I'm so happy! Oh I just can't wait for November to roll around, but first, school.
