During the midst of the Jade Mercenaries' blitzkrieg campaign, there was a certain mercenary rising up in the ranks of the Jade Mercenaries. His name was Cody Griffon.

Sitting at the end of the runway of one of the Jades' bases at about twelve o'clock at midnight was a F-80 "Shooting Star" with Cody behind the controls of the jet. It was armed with three five hundred pound napalm bombs, and six 127 millimeter unguided napalm rockets, as well as the jet's signature four fifty caliber machine guns. While it looked cold out, the temperature was a cool 63 degrees fahrenheit.

As Cody waited on the end of the paved runway, Drago Zhukovsky pulled up behind him in his A-38C "Turbo Lightning" to join Cody on his blitzkrieg mission.

As Cody tuned into air traffic control, and contacted tower, to request takeoff; a Yak-7 passed low over Cody's jet, landing safely, and taxiing to the Soviet fighter ramp, to which Cody contacted air traffic control, requesting clearance to take off.

Air traffic control denied his request, stating the pattern was full. A minute passed by and an SB2C "Helldiver" passed over his jet, and landed, followed by a Ju-88 heavy fighter, and then a Nakajima G8N heavy bomber.

Cody was beginning to become impatient, when an I-15 Biplane passed over, followed by a Ki-43 "Hayabusa." Another three minutes passed by, and he was given clearance to take off.

Cody disabled the Shooting star's parking brake, lowered the flaps and then applied throttle, sighing in relief that he is no longer waiting to take off.

As the shooting star shot down the runway like a star in the night, taking off and raising the landing gear, while raising the flaps, he circled around the airport at fifty five percent throttle, waiting for Drago to catch up.

About ten minutes passed by, and the two were flying in formation, and the two flew low over a plateau, watching out for the Sudsikovs' airspace patrol that has been enlisted to prevent the Jades from performing their blitzkrieg attacks.

Not seeing any air space patrol, the two rushed into the Sudsikovs' base, dropping napalm all over the runways, and taxiways, setting off an alarm.

As Drago was strafing the parked MiGs and Sukhois, Cody shot a burst of his fifty cals into the cockpit of a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 "Fishbed" that was getting ready to make an attempt to take off, looping around, and rolling to blast past Drago, firing his fifty cals and a few unguided rockets at a Sukhoi Su-34 "Fullback" causing the ordnance on the Fullback to explode upward, destroying the Sukhoi.

As Cody pulled a split-S maneuver, he fired his fifty cals at a MiG-9 that took off, killing the pilot, watching it crash into a line of MiGs and Sukhois that were getting ready to takeoff, causing a massive explosion.

Realizing the Sudsikovs were all killed, Drago and Cody fled the scene, and flew around a plateau, heading back to the Jade Mercenaries' base.

Upon lining up with the runway on final approach, Cody did his pre-landing checks; while lowering the Shooting Star's landing gear and flaps. Because it was about one thirty five in the morning, the pattern was open.

Cody contacted air traffic control, and requested for clearance to land, to which air traffic control allowed Cody to land, to which he pulled back on the joystick, lifting his plane's nose wheel, softly touching down on the white lines; he then activated the Shooting Star's airbrake, and enabled the brakes on the plane to slow down, and pivoted the joystick to turn the nose wheel to taxi to the jet fighter ramp.

Upon pulling into his parking bay, Cody enabled the parking brake; and waited a few minutes to kill the power going to the Allison J33 turbojet.

Upon killing the power to the jet, and climbing out of the Shooting Star, Drago was landing safely in his Turbo Lightning.
