We sat on a bench waiting for James to show up.

“What if they’re just tricking us?”asked Layla.

“Then we’ll send him on his way. He said that he has nowhere to go so we have to give him a chance.” I said.

“I still think he’s tricking us,” said Stephan.

“I'm not tricking anyone but my boss,” said a voice. We looked up and James was standing over us, “I told him I was on my way back, but I'm not,” he said laughing.

Layla stood up and asked him, “so what other pokemon do you have?”

“How about I just show you?” He threw four pokeballs into the air. Out came Carnivine and Growlithe.

“Wow I've never seen that grass type pokemon,” said Layla.

“That's because it's from a different region,” said James.

“Okay, enough about your pokemon, we've decided that you could come along with us if you want to go to the fair. If you cause any trouble you’re gone. You got it?” I asked

“Yeah I got it, and I'd love to go to the fair,” he said.

Layla chimed in by adding, “but you’ll have to win a battle to get in.”

“The carni said he'll only let us in if we win a battle,” Stephan said.

“By the way the fair is only open for four more hours,” I said.

“Then we need to get going,” said James. We all walked towards to pokemon center.

When we reached the fair the carni was already in a pokemon battle. His staryu was facing a Machop. The Machop was looking really tired.

“Alright Staryu let's finish this with bubblebeam,” yelled the carni. A beam of pressurized bubbles hit Machop in the torso. It fell to the ground defeated.

He recalled his pokemon and walked up to us.

“So you came back with pokemon. Let's head to the battlefield."
