CHAPTER XXI.
Reia believed that she may have developed something that was known as a 'crush'.
On whom?
"Do you really even need to ask?" Reia grumbled as she rolled over on her bed.
Narcissa giggled, "Not really. I already know you love—,"
Reia groaned, "It's not—I don't know—it's just—,"
"I know, I know," Narcissa said, smiling widely, "At least you've admitted it to yourself now. I've been betting on you finally realising your own feelings for a while now."
"You actually bet?" Reia rolled over onto her side to face her friend.
Narcissa scoffed, "Don't flatter yourself, Lupin. I didn't actually bet."
Reia sighed, "Cissa, that's a good thing! So what do I do? What would you do if you had a crush?"
"Well, I realised it—,"
"Uh, yeah," Reia said, a smirk spreading across her lips, "I was there, remember? After like three years of everybody else knowing that you and Lucius were 'meant to be'," Reia did air speech-marks with her fingers, "you finally realised your feelings and then started freaking out to me and Josie."
"Which is pretty much exactly what is happening to you now," Josie said, stepping out of the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
She was dressed in her pajamas already, with her hair dripping wet. She was wringing her hair dry with a towel, but quickly she whipped out her wand and muttered a quick charm, and the moisture in her hair evaporated immediately.
"Argh, this is frustrating!" Reia exclaimed, "Tell me what to do now! I think I like him!"
"Just tell him, then," Josie advised, "You two have been best friends for years, and I'm pretty sure he likes you too."
Reia furrowed her brows, "How would you know?"
"I have eyes, my darling," Josie said sarcastically, "But anyway, you should just maybe ask him out or something."
"Me? But isn't he supposed to—,"
"Rei," Narcissa said with a giggle, "Regulus might ask you out, but even if he wanted to, he doesn't even know if you like him or not, and you don't know if he likes you back. So maybe you just make the move—ask him, and if he doesn't like you, then you guys can stay as friends, and you don't have to be weighed down by a crush anymore! Win-win situation, right?"
"True," Reia said, "Okay, fine..."
***
"I didn't want to do this," Reia groaned as she shut the massive textbook, "but I'm going to have to."
"What?" Regulus asked, casting an amused glance in her direction.
The two of them were sitting at the library together, after Reia had very insistently dragged Regulus to there to study.
Regulus had gone with her anyway, because he had to finish off his essay, but Reia seemed to just be pretending to read textbooks.
She kept on glancing at him, but Regulus had decided not to ask her about it, to prevent her from feeling awkward.
"I'm going to have to ask you a question..."
"What question?" Regulus asked with a smile.
"I kind of want to go to Hogsmeade with you, Reg."
Regulus' eyes widened and he just stared for a moment.
"Uh, I mean—if you don't want to, you don't have—," Reia hastily added, but Regulus' face broke out into a wide grin.
"Of course I'd love to go with you to Hogsmeade, Reia," Regulus said with a smile, "I was going to ask you...but, well, I guess it's the same either way."
"Oh, Merlin," Reia exhaled deeply, "That was a massive relief. I thought you were going to say 'no', for a moment there."
"I wouldn't," Regulus said, grinning, "I mean, you're beautiful, I'm beautiful—we're beautiful together—,"
"Okay, okay, I get it," Reia rolled her eyes, "What's got you so arrogant all of a sudden?"
"Maybe the fact that I've got a date with Reia Hope Lupin."
Reia smiled, "Yes, the one and only."
