CHAPTER XXXIV.

The rest of the school year went quickly.

Josie, Lucius and Narcissa didn't come back to school after Christmas break, and Reia felt like the castle was so empty without her friends around.

But, Josie wrote back to her, explaining that she had gone through with becoming an official Death Eater, and that Narcissa and Lucius were getting married.

Reia had felt lonely and gloomy when she'd received the letter, but the reply she wrote did not channel that. She tried to be comforting and happy in her letter, writing a separate letter to both Lucius and Narcissa to congratulate them on their marriage.

Obviously Reia wouldn't be invited to the wedding, being a half-blood, along with the fact that she was not exactly liked among the Black family and the Malfoy family.

That had only made her feel even more miserable.

Now, she spent more time around Regulus and sometimes even interacting with some students from other Houses when Regulus wasn't around.

Regulus had healed well and quite quickly, and she'd explained that she'd given the locket to Dumbledore, and that Dumbledore had promised to take care of it.

She had become quite good friends with a Ravenclaw, much to her surprise.

As Reia entered the Great Hall for breakfast, she noticed that the Slytherin table was almost empty of Seventh and Sixth Years.

Reia had a good guess of where they'd gone. Back to their families, either becoming Death Eaters or hiding from the Death Eaters who wanted to recruit them.

"Hey," Reia said as she slid into her seat at the Slytherin Table beside Regulus and a Fifth Year Slytherin girl called Lula Montague, whom Regulus and Reia had befriended over the past few weeks.

"Hello," Lula said, her smile cheerful as usual, "How are you today, Reia?"

Lula was beautiful, with long curly black hair which was braided neatly, and hazel eyes, with fair skin and gentle facial features that gave off the vibe of kind-heartedness.

"I'm okay," Reia replied, grabbing a few pancakes and putting them onto her plate.

For a moment, she remembered the morning when she and her friends had eaten together and Josie had asked for Narcissa's pancakes...

That was before Reia's world began to fall apart.

Those were happy times.

The Great Hall seemed lonely, and the mood was quiet and solemn. At least, that was what Reia felt.

Regulus, as though realising what she was thinking about, gently laid a hand on her shoulder comfortingly as though to say, I'm here for you.

Reia had no idea what they were supposed to do after they left Hogwarts.

Regulus was supposed to leave Hogwarts like Lucius, Josie and Narcissa.

But he'd told his parents that he'd 'spy' on the students' activity for any enemies and information for the Dark Lord, and his parents had proudly told him that they were absolutely supportive of that and then informed the Dark Lord.

That was the only reason why Regulus was still allowed to stay at school.

Reia didn't know where their relationship was going to go after leaving Hogwarts.
