CHAPTER XXXVIII.

When he at last knocked and was let into Reia's dorm, his worries faded away and he smiled at Reia, who was brewing some sort of potion.

She had her dark hair pulled up into a messy bun, and she was focused on adding a very precise amount of an ingredient into her cauldron, so she didn't look up, and Regulus didn't call out, so as not to distract her from her potion-making.

Finally, as she started stirring the cauldron vigorously, she looked up and said, "Hey, Reg."

He took a moment to appreciate how beautiful she was, before replying, "Hello, Reia. What're you making?"

"It's Felix Felicis," Reia explained, "I'm trying to finish it, since Lula here challenged me to finish her potion. She started it six months ago and doesn't know how to finish it off, so I'm doing it for her."

Regulus sat down beside Reia and raised an eyebrow at Lula, who had sat down opposite Reia.

"Well, we were bored!" Lula defended herself, "And seeing as she has all the ingredients she needs to finish off the Felix Felicis and the fact that she has no need for her ingredients anymore, since it's the end of the year—I just thought she might as well try it."

"Okay?" Regulus said uncertainly, "You know it's extremely hard to make, right?"

"I do," Reia muttered, biting her lip in concentration as she heated the cauldron again and waved her wand over the potion and said, "Felixempra!"

"I did it!" Reia cried, as the potion turned a golden colour.

"Well...put it in a vial," Lula said, furrowing her brows as she peered into the cauldron, and seeing that Reia Lupin had in fact just brewed what looked exactly like Felix Felicis.

"That was quick," Regulus commented as Reia carefully transferred the Liquid Luck into vials. It filled seven vials, and she tucked them into her drawer, before cleaning up her cauldron with a quickly muttered 'Scourgify' and then she got up.

"Please, Regulus," Reia said, shaking her head with a little laugh, "I've been working on finishing the potion for about the past five hours. Don't think this is my first time attempting to make Felix Felicis. I tried it in third year, and that didn't work. It exploded, in fact. And then I did it in sixth year again, and it turned a greenish-yellow colour which didn't look safe to drink, and so I got rid of it. While you were finding your bag, I've been finishing this potion with Lula." She wiped some sweat off of her brow.

"What are you going to do with it?" Lula asked.

"I'm going to take it to Slughorn," Reia said, "And ask him if it's been made correctly and if it's safe to use." She retrieved one vial of the golden Liquid Luck from her drawer and tucked it into her pocket, before she said, "I'm going, now. I'll be back in about twenty minutes."

"I'll go with you." Regulus said immediately.

"Then I'm going too!" Lula said with a bright smile, "Wouldn't want to be alone here, would I?"

"Of course not," Reia agreed, "Come on, both of you."

"Well, Miss Lupin," Slughorn said, looking very surprised, "You clearly have a talent for Potions that I have never seen in the past. This is a vial of perfectly brewed Felix Felicis."
