Sunset's Kiss

We sat barefooted,
the water touched our bubbly feet.
The calmness of the sea,
Was all we wanted to be.

Looking at the yellow ball,
As the sky touched the earth in line.
Descending while painting the sky with  red and orange shades.
Rays hitting the auspicious eyes, healing the pain inside.
The silhouettes of birds chirping witnessing the beauty as they soar up high.
The sweet percussion of the waves,
Serenading every ear
In a cold breeze of summer air.

Before the sun beckoned the twilight and stars to appear,
You slowly drifted your head to my shoulder.
And I heard you whisper.
"This is the reason why I always love the sunset. The beauty it brings before kissing goodbye."
