Alexander and Charlie played video games most of the day and only went down to eat for lunch and dinner with his father and Charlie's parents. Alexander had no choice but to tell his father about his mate. To Alexander's surprise, his father wasn't against the fact that she was a kitten shifter, in fact he was ecstatic. He wanted to meet her, to get to know her, to treat her like his own daughter. Alexander knew something might be up, but then again, his dad always wanted a daughter....but with his wife and Alexadner's mom dead, he can't have one.

Alexander sat on the couch, lazily flipping through the channels before it landed on King of the Hill. He pulled out his phone and randomly searched through social media, hoping to maybe find his mate on there.

"Alexander, we have n intruder, west border."

"On my way." Alexander jumped up and ran to his room, changing into a dark pair of jeans and a black t-shirt before heading in the direction of his packmates. Once close enough he stopped, snifing the air and wdening his eyes. He knows this scent.

"Boys, what's going on-" Then he saw her, broken and crying. He told the wolves to leave and watched as she fell to the ground, a sob escaping her lips. He heard her hoarse voice whisper, "mate" before he wrapped his arms around her and held her close. He ignored the heat and shocks coming from their touch as he rubbed her back soothingly. Once she was calmed down enough, he pulled her back and brushed her hair out of her face, wiping away her tears and kissing her forehead.

"What's your name?" He asked, looking at the beautiful eyes he didn't think he was going to see until dawn, or rather ever.

"A-Arabella."

"What a beautiful name," She blushed as he ran his thumb across her cheeks. "I'm Alexander. What happened?" Her eyes began to tear up again and he took the bag off her back and slung it on his shoulder. He pickedd her up into his arms and started for his house, not far from the pack house.
"You don't have to tell me yet, but when we meet my father, you might have to. I can't help you otherwise." He felt her nod and wrap her amrs around him tightly. He tightened his hold on her, careful not to hurt her.

Before he reached the house, he could hear her slight snores and her body relax. He smiled slightly as he looked down at her sleeping figure in his arms. Her arms were still tightly wrapped around him, her lashes lightly brushed her cheeks and a light blush seemed to glow. Her mouth was parted slightly, creating the light snore that escaped every so often. He reached his house, surprised to see Charlie waiting for him at the door. Charlie looked at Arabella and whistled, earning a low growl to erupt from Alexander's chest. Charlie held his hands up in surrender.

"Sorry man. just looked like she's been through a lot. Is that her bag?" Alexander nodded and let Charlie take it from him without having to drop Arabella in his arms. He walked to his father's office and waited for Charlie to open the door for him.

"So what's the problem so- Oh my sweet Jesus, is this?"

"Yes, and something happened, she must have passed out from exhaustion." He paused, setting her down on the couch by the window and covering her with the white blanket that draped across the couch. His father's jaw ticked.

"That was your mother's..." Alexander sighed and ran his hands through his hair as he watched Arabella curl into a ball and hold onto his arm. HIs father's face softened and a small smile crept onto his face. "Perhaps, it can be hers now. So what's so urgent? That your mate is here?"

"The patrol found her crying and shaking. Something happened, and she might be in danger. They said they heard a pained roar before they found her like that. When I reached her, she fell to the ground sobbing. It took me a few minutes to calm her down. I don't know if she'll be ready to talk tomorrow or not." Alexander knelt beside her so she could have better access to his arm. She whined and her face scrunched up before relaxing again.

"We'll talk about this tomorrow, let her rest, and see if she'll be ready to talk in the morning. We need to know what happened before we do anything. And son? Those laws in this pack don't exist anymore, I talked the king into letting it pass for this pack when the wolves were beginning to find their mates to be other shifters. So, yes, you can be with her here." Alexander smiled and picked her up into his arms again. She hid her face in the blanket and tried to get closer to him. Once she stopped squirming Alexander started to leave, but turned to his father.

"Thank you." Then he left and took her up the stairs to his room. Charlie followed him with her bag and set it down beside Alexander's bed.

"What's her name?" Charlie asked as Alexander laid her on his bed.

"Arabella. Beautiful isn't it?"

"Yeah, man you're lucky." Charlie leaned against the bed post and watched Alexander brush her hair aside.

"Charlie, do you mind staying here tonight? If something is wrong and she is in danger, I want you and I to be around her tonight. In case something happens, you know?"

"Yeah, I'll take the floor."

"No, the couch. I'll help you carry the one from the other guest room in here." They both nodded and quickly went to retrieve the couch across the hall. When the couch was placed in Alexander's bedroom, Arabella began to stir.

"Alexander..." She whimpered. He sighed happily, stripping off his jeans and replacing them with a pair of sweats. He walked over to her side and pulled her shoes and socks off. She opened her eyes and stared at him.

"Alexander?"

"Do you want one of my shirts? It might be more comfortable." She nodded and he took his shirt off and gave it to her, earning a deep blush from her. He growled at Charlie to turn around and they both waited patiently until she was undressed and into his shirt before they btoh turned around and got settled. Charlie turned the TV on low volume as he watched Criminal Minds. Arabella hugged the soft blanket that Alexander had wrapped her in and then scoot as close as she could to him. She felt safe when his arm snaked around her waist. Alexander sighed happily, sticking his nose on her neck and breathing in her scent and waiting for her to fall asleep. Once her breathing slowed and he knew she was asleep, he checked to see if Charlie was still there.

"Yes you lovesick puppy, I'm still here. Go to sleep, nothing is going to happen to her now. She's with us, the safest pack in the country." Alexander sighed and fell asleep with his mate in his arms.
