Penelope's P.O.V

As soon I heard that Kol Mikaelson was in Mystic Falls, I packed up and left Miami. Travelling back to Mystic Falls, all I did was think about Kol and my brothers. I haven't seen my brothers for about 60 years and I haven't seen Kol for nearly a hundred years. This is going to be one long trip.

IN MYSTIC FALLS

As I step into the grill, I am engulfed by the smell of alcohol and burgers. I go to the bar and I sit down. I order a bourbon and I pay the bartender for it. I go sit at a table then I order a burger and fries. As I am eating, I hear the door open and I see Stefan and Damon walk in. I quickly stand up, paying for my food then I walk out.

I feel someone following me, I turn around but no one is there. I look forward and there is Damon. I jump a little bit.

"Penelope, my sister. What are you doing here?" He asks, with some anger laced in his voice.

"Hi Damon. Nice to see you too" I say sarcastically.

"Seriously, what are you doing here?" He says, getting more angry.

I roll my eyes, "As if I need to explain." Then it dawned on him.

"You're here for Kol Mikaelson. Well then.. They are having a ball tonight. A masquerade ball." He says.

I listen to his heartbeat, and he isn't lying. "Good, then I am going. I am going to go get a dress and a black mask."

He nods then he's gone. Good. I walk around town and I find a dress store. I try on a few dresses then I find the perfect one. I pay for it as well as a black mask. I walk out of the store and I go to the realtor's office and I buy a foreclosed house. I drive to it and I open the door.

After I enter the house, I hear a knock at it. I go to open it and no one's there. I look down and I pick up the envelope. It's the invitation to the ball, but it doesn't say anything about it being a masquerade one. Oh well, I can save it for another occasion.

I go upstairs and I get ready for the ball. After, I get all my makeup and hair done, I go and get my dress. It's a floor length, peach colored dress. It's sleeveless and it has a sweetheart neckline. It's puffy, but not too much.

Walking down the street to the Mikaelson house made me really nervous. I hope Kol remembers me. I take a deep breath before I enter the house and I see many people, who I don't recognize, but my eyes scan the room until I hear glass clinking and everyone looks up. I do the same and I see Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol and I am guessing, Finn. Klaus speaks up and says how their mom has returned and how this was her idea. Then she walks down and stands with her kids. She thanks everyone for being here.

After that, they all descend down the stairs, except Finn and Esther. I see Kol talking to Damon. I listen into the conversation.

"Have we met before?" Damon asks

Kol chuckles, "I have met a lot of people and you don't particularly stand out"

I grab a glass of champagne as the waiter comes near me. I take a sip and I see Stefan. I don't do anything then he looks at me. He comes over to me.

"Damon said you were in town. I didn't believe him but I do now." He says.

"Surprise?" I say as a question.

Stefan hugs me and whispers "Go get Kol."

I smile then I turn around to look for Kol. I scan the room and I don't see him. Sighing, I walk outside then something falls behind me. I quickly turn around and I see Kol. I look up and see Damon jump down then he snaps Kol's neck. I run over to Kol and I put his head in my lap, slowly stroking his hair. Some people come out and one of them is Elijah. He comes over to me.
