Divergent, What if There was no War?

Chapter 3

It's amazing. I mean, it's pretty much the sam as Tobias' but it feels special. It's mine. I have passed initiation, and I have chosen my jobs. I have an apartment. I am a proper Dauntless now. In this moment, I am sure that I have made the right decision.

Tobis comes up behind me and wraps his arms around me. "Congratulations." He whispers, and kissed the top of my head. I reluctantly break away from his arms and carry my thing inot my room. I don't have much. A few clothes... that's about it. The room is fully furnished, and equiped so it's ready to live in straight away. The first room is the biggest. It has a living room area that continues onto a dining room area with a small table in it. The living room has a coffee table, and a couch, and two armchairs, and a bookshelf lined with a few books. I natice that when I look at the bookshelf, Tobias gets a funny grin on his face.

"What's so funny!?" I demand. "Nothing." He replies quickly. "I mean, I can't tell you. You have to figure it out yourself." I'm onfused, so I go and inspect the bookshelf more carefully. I realise that it dosen't seem very Dauntless to have a bookshelf in your room. That's more an Erudite thing. I see a small knob in the wood and press it. A hidden door springs open to reveal two kinves, a gun, and extra bullets. That's a lot more Dauntless.

"Nice. It takes some initiates months before they notice." He smiles.

Connected to the living/eating area is a kitchen. It has a fridge/freezer, oven, stove, microvave, toaster, dishwasher and other such appliances. I can't imagine I'll use the kitchen much. Not with the dining hall available. I open the fridge and find cake in it. That's nice. I'll have to share it with Tobias I suppose.

I walk through a door into the next room which is a bedroom. It has a double bed in it, a cupboard, a bedside table, and there is a door at the other end. I dump my clothes on my bed, and open the door. It leads to a bathroom. That contains a bath, shower, sink, cupboard and mirror. I can look at myself whenever I want now. It feels sort of uncanny nearly. Tobias must see me looking at  the mirror weirdly, because he comes over and chuckles. "You'll get used to it."

"Can you stop lauging at me!" I whine. "I'm sorry," he responds, "It's funny watching you because you're not used to anything like this."

I walk back into my room, and start putting my clothes away. Tobias comes over and helps me without saying anything. When we're done I go and lie on my bed and Tobias follows me. He slowly kisses me and I kiss back. "I love you." He mumbles into my lips. "I love you too." I whisper back. We continue kissing for a while, then lie in peaceful silence on my bed. This is nice. I do love Tobias, and I am free now. To be a member of Dauntless. To be with him. To be Tris.

I sigh and get up. "I'd better go shopping. I don't want to, but Christina will be mad if I don't turn up in something new."

"Ok." Tobias replies. "Be careful. Oh, and make sure you buy something with layers. You can never be too sure at a Dauntless party." I wonder what he means, but make a mental note to buy layers.

"Right. Sounds scary. I'll be careful. First in initiation remember!" I respond.

"I know, you'll be fine. I'll go back to my apartment, and come pick you up before the party ok?" He says. "See you!" I reply smiling. He walks out, and now I have to face the task of shopping. Darn Christina and her party. I'm sure it will be fun though. Christina isn't the type of person who will settle for half-pie. I walk out the door and search for a good shop.

Sorry that chapter was kinda lame. It was just a filler chapter, and as you've probably noticed by now, I'm going for detailed. I hope it's not too boring because of that!
