Eddsworld Tord x reader - Strangely Sweet

A Mistake and a Doggo

We made it to the park with no obstacles. It was quiet right now, as only a few elders and a young couple were there. Children were in school.

Tord and I started walking around, taking the paths that led around the park. This specific park was fairly large. As we walked in peaceful silence, we looked around at the things surrounding us. There were animals, too. A squirrel ran up a tree, and birds were everywhere. There was also an older man walking his dog. This dog caught my attention. Just as Tord opened his mouth to say something, seeming sort of nervous, I exclaimed "Aww!" and speed walked over to the dog and the man. Tord sighed and went to us.

I kneeled down next to the dog, and the man smiled. "Her name's Piccilo." he said in a croaky voice. I was smiling big. "So cute!" I kept saying. Tord stood next to me, watching me closely. "You can pet her." the old man said. I immediately pet her. She licked my hand and I giggled. After a few moments, I stood back up again and smiled at the man. "Thank you!" I said joyfully. He laughed heartily and shook his head. "Think nothing of it. You have a good day now, missy." he said. "Come now, Piccilo." And then him and the dog walked off. I watched them go with a smile. Tord watched them as well. Then he looked at me. I looked back at him. "Ah, sorry!" I said, realizing I had gone off track. "I didn't mean to-" Tord cut me off. "Don't worry 'bout it." he said with a smile. He then took my hand and led me onto the path, and we continued walking.

We spoke as we walked. "So," he said, "ya like dogs?" I glanced at him, smiling still. "Yep! I like all animals!" He nodded. "Which do you prefer, dogs or cats?" he asked. I thought for a moment. "Mm...I'd have to say dogs." I responded. "Ah." he said. "I'll keep that in mind." I stopped looking at him, but still spoke. "How about you?" I asked him. I had a feeling he'd be a dog person too. "Huh?" he looked at me. "Dogs or cats for you?" He thought for a moment. "...Cats, I guess. Kittens are cute." he finally said. I was sorta surprised. "Really?" I asked. He nodded.  "Huh. Well, expect the unexpected, amiright?" I said playfully. He chuckled. After that, we just idly chatted, occasionally making the other laugh. That's when we passed by two people, sitting on a bench and looking at us.

There was one male and one female. The male seemed calm and sort of cold. He had pale skin, icy blue eyes, and ruffled black hair, and he wore gray-black jeans, dark blue and white sneakers, a navy blue sweater, and a black jacket over it. And then, the girl. She was also very pale, and she had pale green eyes and floofy white hair, up in a ponytail, with bangs covering one of her eyes. She wore a pastel blue sweater and faded gray shorts, along with pastel purple leggings that led down to her black zip-up boots.

"Aww, how sweet!" the girl of the two cooed. The boy just nodded. We looked over at them, confused. The boy didn't seem to be paying attention. The girl was looking at us with a cheerful expression. "How long have you two been together?" she asked. My eyes widened and Tord blushed. "U-uh..." he said, "we're...not a couple." She cocked her head to the side. "Really?" I nodded. "Oh,  I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, and then face palmed. "You two just look so cute together..." I blushed at that. Tord's only got darker. "Um...thanks?" I said awkwardly. She just waved her hands. "I'm really sorry! Just...pretend like I never said anything!" Tord stayed quiet, and I chuckled. "D-don't worry about it." I said. We then continued walking. As we walked off, I heard the boy of the two say "Your mother taught you to not talk to strangers for a different reason than most."

I chuckled again, then went silent, thinking. Do we really look like a couple? Huh. I kept thinking about that, and glanced at him. He was still looking foreward, and still holding my hand. I smiled. And then I realized that I was perfectly fine with that.
