A Stupid Rule

We're driving home and I'm exhausted.

I cannot wait to get home and fall asleep next to German. I'm so tired and I know he will be too. We also still need to talk about- whatever German wanted to talk about. I really wish I knew because it's driving me mad and I have no idea what he wants!

As we arrive home, I flop onto the sofa in a heap. My eyes are shut but I hear the thud of footsteps on the stairs and I know its German.

I don't open my eyes, I just lay there face up. Moments later, I feel his presence above me and then he leans in and kisses me.

When he pulls away, I open my eyes to see a bag next to him.

I must have looked confused because German quickly explained.

"Well, we can't be together the night before our wedding." he says smiling.

"What?" I reply exasperated.

German chuckles.

"Apparently everyone organised it for us so it would happen straight away. So tomorrow I will be able to call you my wife."

He leans in and kisses me once more.

"Do you have to go?" I ask disappointed. I was really looking forward to falling asleep next to him tonight.

"Apparently weddings have rules and one is we can't be together the night before." he's smirking at me but I am generally annoyed. I had full intention of using him as a human pillow.

"Well that's a stupid rule." I say frustrated.

"I know," says German as he lifts my head so it is directly in front of his, "But tomorrow, we will never be apart again."

He kisses me again.

"Never?" I ask relaxing a bit.

"Never." he replies tucking my hair behind my ear.

"Promise?" I ask.

"Promise."

I lean in and kiss him. I'm instantly relaxed at his touch.

"Okay?" he says when its over.

"Okay." I say rather upset.

"Ramallo is waiting for me in the car. Violetta and her friends will be staying in Violetta's room. Angelica has the guest room and you have ours of course. Need anything else before I go?" he says standing by the door.

"Yes," I say, "A hug."

I run up to him and he wraps his arms around me and lifts me up. I wrap my arms tightly around his neck too.

"German," I say whispering in his ear, "I just thought of another stupid rule."

"What's that?" he says still holding me tightly.

"My rule about kissing in public." I say with my head nuzzled in his shoulder, "And tomorrow I'm going to break it, because there is going to be nothing to stop me from kissing you in that church."

"Me either." He says as he gently drops me down and kisses me once more.

As he picks up his bag and opens the door, I run up to him and kiss him again. One last time.

"I love you." I say. I know its only one night, but we haven't been apart since the day of the ransacking.

"I love you more." says German, just as the door shuts behind him.

I stand alone at the door for just a moment when I remember. German had something to ask me! What if I needed to know before we married?

I ran out of the door just in time to see the car leave the street.
