yoongi stood in what was hopefully jung hoseok's back garden and was running out of stones to throw by the time the brunette cane to the window.
the boy cluelessly looked around wearing a confused expression that made yoongi smile fondly, as it always did.
"hoseok!" he called, making the boy jump and look down.
he seemed surprised to see yoongi, but judging by the bright smile that followed after it was a pleasant surprise.
that smile
yoongi bit his lip and smiled back, admiring how good hoseok looked with his messy bedhead and sleepy eyes.
"are you busy?" he yelled
hoseok thought for a moment and shook his head.
"do you want to hang out?"
hoseok nodded excitedly and disappeared.;
his heart was racing as he quickly got dressed into warmer clothing. with all the excitement of yoongi showing up so unexpectedly he'd completely forgot about his previous dramas. he couldn't really think about anything other than yoongi wants to hang out with me
he rushed downstairs quickly and put his shoes on.
"i'm going out!" he called to his parents who responded with a casual "ok honey! don't be too late!"trying to calm his racing heart he opened the front door to see yoongi stood in front of him.
his hair was slightly wavy and seemed shiner that usual. the blue barely there now, almost a greyish-blonde. his lips were pink and formed a soft smile that made hoseok's heart melt. his dark eyes seemed sleepy and his dark eye bags that seemed to be permanent served as evidence that yoongi was tired, but he still looked so good.
he sported his usual black jeans and black boots but today he had a blue sweater that seemed far too big for him. he drowned in it in a way that made him seem so small and cute.
hoseok's stomach was twisting itself into knots as he stared at the boy. he had it bad. he had it very bad. he loved everything about yoongi. he couldn't find a flaw if he tried to.
he desperately tried to swallow his feelings as he and yoongi started walking.
just friends he repeated to himself.
;
yoongi practically melted at the sight of hoseok. he felt like a drug addict just getting his long awaited fix, or maybe hoseok was better suited to the metaphor of medicine. his medicine. he always made him feel better and he felt like he really would die without seeing that angelic smile.
his hair was messy and fluffy, falling over his face in different directions. he smiled and his whole face lit up as he did so. that smile... he was sure it'd be the death of him. it made his knees feel weak and his heart flutter every single time.
"where are we going?" hoseok asked
"where do you want to go?" yoongi looked at his brunette companion as they walked who answered with a quiet
"i don't mind..." and trailed off, looking at the sky.it must have been around 5 o'clock. the sun was beginning to set.
"the park?" yoongi offered
"sure" hoseok smiled, and they headed in that direction.the park was empty as it was almost dark, but neither of them minded. in fact they were rather grateful.
hoseok immediately went to the swings, sitting in one and swinging himself slightly. yoongi laughed quietly to himself and sat in the swing adjacent to hoseok.
"it's been a while" hoseok said, a hint of sadness in his voice
"two days" yoongi laughed "but yes, it has"they swung quietly together, but the silence wasn't awkward. it was peaceful.
"how come you're barely at school?" hoseok asked after a little while.
yoongi took a while to respond
"i don't like it, so i just don't go." he shrugged "and even when i'm there, you probably won't see me""why's that?" hoseok pressed
"i hide" yoongi smirkedhoseok laughed softly "are you smart?"
"am i smart?" yoongi repeated the question
"like, are your grades good?"
"oh. yeah, i'm pretty smart. i guess" yoongi nodded.it was true. if he made an effort with school he'd probably be in top grades of his year. he just rarely showed up or paid attention.
"are you smart?" he returned the question
"not really" hoseok laughedthey talked about random subjects for a while longer, so immersed in each other neither realised the time.
"i've got to get going" hoseok said
"ah, ok" yoongi nodded "i can walk you home"hoseok was glad it was dark at that point because he could feel his face turn red.
"you don't have to" he said
"it's fine"as they were walking hoseok felt yoongi's hand brush against his for a split second. the physical tingle he felt down his spine at the small touch making him blush even redder than he already was.
did he mean to do that?
he didn't, but yoongi felt a shiver too. he found himself wondering how their hands would fit together; he imagined hoseok's hands would be as warm and comforting as he was.
their hands touched accidentally again and hoseok realised how cold yoongi's fingers were.
he grabbed his hand almost subconsciously
"you're hands are so cold" he stated with a frown
"yours are so warm" yoongi smiles, his heart racing as hoseok held his hand tightly.both their faces were blushing but neither could see in the darkness, thankfully.
yoongi was smiling like an idiot. their hands fit together perfectly and the secure feeling of hoseok holding onto him made him melt. he glanced at the taller boy, barely able to see him in the darkness except from when passing a street lamp. hoseok was beautiful.
hoseok wanted to hold yoongi's hand forever. if he could have one wish right now, it'd be just that.
his heart was nearly pounding out of his chest. he really was whipped, but he didn't care. he like being in love. he liked yoongi. he liked how they fit together.
he was happy with that.
