hoseok had learned pretty quickly that yoongi enjoyed holding hands. the older had given up being subtle about it early on and didn't hesitate to interlock their fingers whenever hoseok's hand was in reach. of course, hoseok didn't mind in the slightest and was extremely grateful of any type of contact with yoongi.

he wondered if the fluttering feeling would ever wear off; it'd been a few weeks since they had kissed for the first time and he still felt tingly whenever yoongi smiled or laughed or touched him. everything the boy did made his heart beat faster and put a goofy smile on his face and he just really really loved yoongi.

"hoseok?" yoongi's sleepy voice made him smile as he turned to the boy
"yeah?"
yoongi crawled across the bed to wrap his arms around the younger boy and rest his head on his shoulder. he closed his eyes, appreciating the warmth hoseok's body constantly radiated.

"thank you" he says softly
"for what?" hoseok leans back into yoongi's embrace and can't help but smile to himself
"for everything. for letting me stay all the time, feeding me, fucking me" he laughs a little and hoseok laughs too, the boy's laugh was completely contagious, he'd discovered.

"you're very welcome" hoseok closes his laptop, abandoning his homework in favour of pulling yoongi into a suffocating hug. yoongi really doesn't mind not being able to breath for a few seconds, if he's being honest hoseok takes his breath away most of the time anyway.

they lie together for a little while, just listening to each other's heartbeats and steady breathing. safe is the best way to describe how hoseok makes him feel, yoongi decides. the feeling of the boy's chest rising and falling grounded him, reminded him that he wasn't completely alone even though he'd felt that way most of his life.

"yoongi?" the way his name sounds when hoseok says it is like music to his ears
"hm?" he hums, face still pressed against the boy's chest. there's a small silence and yoongi almost has time to worry before hoseok says
"i love you"

yoongi immediately looks up, staring at hoseok to make sure he heard that right. the words sounded completely foreign when he was on the receiving end of them, most likely because no one had actually ever said that to him with maybe the exception of taehyung would would say it jokingly sometimes.

"i just, uh, wanted you to know that. i know it's kinda early and it's ok if you don't love me, i just-" hoseok starts to ramble but stops when yoongi smiles, the big, genuine smile that makes hoseok feel so incredibly happy.

"don't cry" his face immediately falls when he sees yoongi's eyes watering and he instinctively reaches out to wipe the tears away. yoongi makes a noise thats half-way between a sob and a laugh as he wipes his own eyes, hiding behind his own hands in embarrassment.

"god, i'm sorry" he sniffles "fuck, this is pathetic"

"don't apologise" hoseok laughs, gently placing his hands on yoongi's legs that were either side of his waist "i'm sorry for making you cry"
yoongi sniffles again, wiping his nose and eyes with the sleeve of his (hoseok's) jumper before shaking his head.

he spends a few seconds composing himself, wiping at his eyes again before he leans down and connects their lips together, hoseok instantly reciprocates, feeling the familiar heart stuttering, time stopping, brain melting feeling that would flood his body every single time they kissed. he can feel yoongi smiling against his lips, can see the beautiful smile once he pulls away, staring down at him with adoration and some genuine happiness.

"i love you too" he says with a smile in spite of the tears that continue to run down his face. he's just overwhelmed, overwhelmed by the fact that someone loves him for the first time in his life. overwhelmed by the fact that he loves someone, he trusts someone, all unfamiliar feelings that will take some getting used to.

hoseok lets out a relived breath
"good" he grins and pulls yoongi into another kiss. he loves him so much, it almost hurts.
