*Ice's POV*
I walked up to the river and looked into it. I looked terrible and I didn't like it. I sighed and tried to calm down my hair, which was a mess. I wet down my hands and brushed my fingers through my hair. I looked into the river again and saw that my hair was straight and I looked like normal. I smiled and walked back to my tree. I climbed up and sat on a branch close to the top. I looked out and saw a ship. It had a slime figure at the front and the flags had a symbol that looked familiar to me. I gasped and quickly climbed down. I ran towards where I saw the ship and when I got close, I saw an ocean. The ship was close to docking and I ran towards where it was going to dock. I hid behind a tree and slowly climbed up to a branch where I could see the people on the ship. I saw a few people who I didn't know and then I saw who I was looking for. It was him! He came back! I saw him looking around and scanning the trees. My smile grew as he and a group of people I didn't know walk towards my forest. I climbed down to a branch where I could see them but they couldn't see me and it was safe for me to drop down and not hurt myself. I saw him looking around and he turned around to the people. He talked to them and I smiled. I climbed down a few more branches and he still couldn't see me. I saw one person look up at me and smile. I waved and they waved back. He talked to the person, or Bacca, beside him and pointed at me. I put my finger to my mouth, telling them to be quiet. I went down a few more branches and grabbed a small twig. I dropped it on his head and he looked up. He saw me and smiled. His eyes lit up and he waved at me. He gestured for me to climb down and I smiled at him. I climbed down and dropped right in front of him. I stared at him. "You're alive!" I breathed out and he smiled. "Of course, I'm alive." He whispered. I hugged him and he hugged back. I pulled away after a minute and turned to the new people. "What are your names?" I asked and one smiled. "My name is Sky, this is Deadlox, or Ty, this is Jason. Jerome is the Bacca. Mitch is beside him and on the other side of Jerome is Ian and Quentin is on the ship still." He said and I smiled at them. "Wait, you're a Bacca?" I asked and Jerome nodded. "You like climbing trees?" I asked and he nodded, smiling. "I love climbing. Especially trees." He said and I smiled. "You wanna race?" I challenged and he grinned at me. "Of course! I don't see why not!" He exclaimed and I smiled. "Let's go!" I said and quickly climbed a tree. He followed and I started jumping from tree to tree. He was right behind me and I sped up. I reached the edge of the forest and stopped. I stopped Jerome before he fell out of the tree. "That's a drop!" He said and I smiled. "Yeah it is. Welcome to my home, though." I said and climbed down from the tree. He slowly followed and I saw Jordan and everyone else already there. I ran over and invited them into my elevator. "Let's go into my house!" I said as everyone got into my elevator. I pulled a rope and it started lifting. Everyone, except me and Jordan, was in awe. We got to my door and I opened it. They all went inside and I pulled the rope again before quickly getting out. I shut the door and went to the kitchen. I took out the brownies I cooked the night before and brought it to the living room. I cut it and we all had brownies. "How long have you been living here?" Mitch asked. "I've been living here since I built it when I was ten. Jordan helped me build it, though." I told him and he nodded. "You're the one who made the plans for it. All I did was get you wood and supplies." Jordan said and I smiled. "You did more than that. You got me to where I am and you gave me the idea of a tree house. This house is fifty percent yours anyway." I told him and he smiled. "True." He said as he put his arm around me. I smiled and Sky gasped. "Wait, are you two dating?" He asked and I nodded. "That's why you didn't look at any girls while we were traveling. That makes sense now." Ty said. I smiled at the thought of Jordan being faithful to me. "So, did you meet anyone while I was traveling?" Jordan asked and I nodded. "A few days after you left, I found a little furry, brown cub and I'm currently taking care of it. I don't know what it is though." I told him and I saw Jerome freeze. "Where is this cub?" Mitch asked and Jerome stared at me. "It's in my spare bedroom. Why?" I asked and Jerome shook his head. "I need to see that cub." He said and I nodded. We all stood up and I led them to the spare bedroom. I opened the door and the cub looked at me. It smiled and I smiled back. I opened the door fully and Jerome stood in the doorway. He locked eyes with the cub and the cub stared at him in shock. Mitch was behind him looking over his shoulder. "Jerome? Is that you?" The cub asked and I gasped. "It's me. Jake, how long have you been here?" Jerome asked and I stared at them both. "About a year. Why? Where's mom and dad?" The cub, Jake, asked. I looked at Jerome and his eyes had small tears in them. He slowly went over to Jake and picked him up. "Listen, mom and dad aren't coming back. They're gone forever, but we have each other now. I'm not leaving for a long time." Jerome said to Jake and Jake's eyes started watering. I slowly backed out of the doorway to give them some space. 'I think they're brothers by the way they're talking.' I thought. I was in the hall now and Mitch was still in the doorway. He was watching the two brothers hug. I poked his shoulder and he turned to me. "Let's give them some space for now." I whispered and Mitch nodded. Everyone walked back to the living room and I quietly shut the door. I walked back to the living room and Mitch had his head in his hands. "What's up?" I asked and sat next to Jordan. "There's something I have to tell you all before we start talking about Jerome's little brother." Mitch said and I looked at him. "What?" Ty asked and Mitch sighed. "I'm the reason their parents aren't coming back. It was an accident, I swear! It wasn't supposed to happen." He said and I gasped. "What happened?" I asked and Mitch looked up at me. "I was ten and I was hunting with my dad. We were searching for deer and fish when I saw something brown flash across the meadow we were in. I told my dad and we headed over to the place where it disappeared when the same thing flashed across the meadow right in front of us. I was scared by then and a few minutes later when nothing else happened. My dad and I moved on. We hunted in the forest and got a few possums, nothing big. We also got a squirrel, but that doesn't matter. My dad just killed another squirrel when the brown thing went by again. This time it stopped right in front of us. Believe it or not, it was a bacca. I was scared again, so I hid behind my dad as another one came out. It was Jerome's parents, but I didn't know that. Jerome came out after that and we were about the same age and same size. I came out from behind my dad and I saw my dad about to kill Jerome's dad. I tried stoping him, I really did, but it was too late for me to do anything. My dad killed Jerome's parents and it's all my fault. It was right in front of both of us and I can't understand why he doesn't blame me for their deaths." Mitch told us all. When the story ended, I noticed Jerome was standing right there, shock written all over his face. "I'm sorry for bringing it back up, Jerome. I had to tell them though. I'm sorry." Mitch apologized. Jerome shook his head and went over to Mitch. He sat down beside him and hugged him. "It wasn't your fault! It was your dad's fault. Stop blaming yourself for something that happened years ago." Jerome said and Mitch hugged him back. "It is my fault. I was the one who wanted to go hunting. That hunting trip was my fault and it's my fault you and Jake are orphans." Mitch whispered, but we all heard it. Jake came out and sat next to me. I smiled at him and put my arm around his shoulder. "So, how old is Jake?" I asked Jerome. Jerome and Mitch stopped hugging and turned to me. "I'm twenty and Jake is eleven. He was a year old when we got orphaned." Jerome's voice cracked at the end of the sentence. "But you look like you're four years old!" I exclaimed to Jake and he shrugged. "It's normal for Bacca's to look like that. I don't act or look my age so it's only fitting." He said and I shook my head. Jordan put his arm around my shoulders and I smiled at him. Everyone started talking to each other and I got pulled into a conversation. "What's your name?" Sky asked and I laughed a bit at the thought of it. "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ice. I'm the former leader of the Ice Army. I retired a few years ago after my Army got dominated in a battle." I shuddered at the thought of the battle. "It's ok. Shh. I'm here now." Jordan whispered in my ear. Jake went to bed as soon as he heard 'battle.' I leaned into him as he hugged me. I pulled away after a bit and took a deep breath. "I'm ok. That happens everytime I try talking about it. Jordan knows what happened in the battle, so if you want to know, ask him. I can't talk about it at all." I said and went to my bedroom. I heard Jordan telling them what happened and I heard a few gasps come from them. I laid down on my bed and fell asleep.
*Jordan's POV*
"What happened in the battle?" Sky asked and I sighed. "She was going against her father, which in any way is a bad idea. She attacked him and they fought. He ended up almost killing her, but her mother saved her by running in front of her. Her father killed her mother instead of her and then after the shock died down, she killed her father. She was still losing though and soon, her whole army was dead. Her old friends, her guards, her brothers. She was the only one left of everyone, except me. Me and her were the only ones left and we left. We traveled until we found this forest and we made this house. She may have only been ten when she was orphaned, but she was still strong. She only broke down when it was midnight and she thought I was sleeping. We've been here ever since. When I made my ship and sailed off for the first time, she was so worried that I would die on her. I told her not to worry, but she did and she told me about it. This last journey was the fifth time I left her here and she still worries about me." I told them and Sky shook his head. "Do you want to leave her here?" Ian asked. "No, I don't want to leave her alone at all because after she got orphaned, she had trouble with depression. She still does when I leave her and I hate leaving her here, but I guess this time she had company after she found Jake." I said and Ian nodded. Ian was a quiet, smart man who thinks a lot and doesn't talk much, but when he does talk, you better listen cause he can give great advice. Sky was a talkative, strong man who was serious at times and was funny at others. He was more of a leader than any of us. I sighed and stood up. I walked to Ice's room and opened her door. I saw her sleeping on her bed and I smiled. I slowly went over to her bed and sat on the edge of the bed. I smiled down at her as she slept and leaned down to her forehead. I softly kissed her forehead and laid down next to her. She cuddled up to me in her sleep and I wrapped my arms around her waist. I slowly picked up her blanket and put it over us as she slept. I slowly fell asleep with Ice in my arms and the blanket covering us.
