-Ara-

The squad met at Changi Airport the next day.

And, yes, I live in Singapore.

Where else would I be,

the Maldives? The Franz Josef glacier?

meet me @ maccy d's, Wednesday'd texted the group chat

and we set off after Micah had finished her xiao long bao,

which took a while as she had to prise Areum off of it.

When we came, we spotted Wednesday

stuffing a cabbage into her mouth

as she talked to Mae on speaker.

It was an ugly sight, but not when you got used to her.

"Yes, yeah. I indeed am going to Korea. No, you aren't rushing down here. Why do you want me to- oh yeah, don't worry, I'll get Jin's everything for you, maybe mail 'em? I dunno. Yeah, I didn't forget the signatu- hEy y'aLL lOok MaE's oN ThE liNe saY hI-"

Wednesday wolfed down her burger-

it's amazing what people can do when they want to-

and beckoned frantically at us.

"Why didn't you wear that gray lace blouse I got for you at H&M?! It would've gone lovely with that skirt and- OHHH I HAVE THE PERFECT NECKLACE RIGHT HERE-"

Wren dove into her bag.

"Never mind, I'm gonna board soon anyway."

A disappointed Wren dumped her handbag on the seat.

"And before that,

I have a speech to make."

"It's been a long time since

I've been so far away from y'all

and I'll miss you so bad.

But I want y'all to know

that I'll be chasing my dreams there

and making music.

It's all that I've dreamt about,

and what makes it better is that

I'll be working with the world's most passionate producers

and also my idols.

I'll send you tons and tons of merch

and some of mine if I reach stardom

but remember that you'll always have a place

in this heart of mine

no matter where I am

or how famous I get.

Love you,

Wednesday Lim Woori."

She did a small curtsy

and never had a McDonald's been so full of pride and love.

Until Wednesday's phone ruined the moment by saying

"weddie? have you boarded yet?"

and all of us laughed.

An hour later,

she was gone

and her plane no more than a speck in the distance.

"I'll miss her," Areum murmured.

So will I,

so will I.
