"What is it?" he asked. "What's your big idea?"

I took a deep breath before spilling out my big plan.

"You hate Jack, right?" I asked.
"Yea, he's a complete dick"
"How would you feel if he was gone?"
"I'd feel great"
"I was thinking that since we both hate him, we could murder him"

Uncomfortable silence immediately erupted between us.

"You actually want to?" he sputtered.
"Hell yea! He was the main reason Gabby committed suicide and the reason why my mum kicked out of home" I exclaimed.
"I know he's a dick, but isn't that a bit too far?" he asked.
"Well yea...... but at the same time if we don't do something about it now, who know what would happen later on?"
"But it's a pretty risky thing to do though"
"Gerard" I sighed. "I would never let anyone or anything hurt you, and if they somehow do, then I will make sure they get what they deserve. Which is the ending of their life"

Gerard took a moment to process my words in before turning to face me.

"Fine, I'll do it" he gulped as he bit his bottom lip.
"Gerard, I know you feel uneasy about the whole thing. I know that killing is wrong, that's why I'm a vegetarian, but this is for the greater good. Trust me" I assured him.

"I know, but we might get caught and then they'll split us up and we'll never see each other ever again. I love you, Frank, and I can't even imagine what my life would be like if you weren't with me" he sobbed.

"Don't cry, hon. We're leaving this place anyways. I was thinking after this is all over, we'll run away. Just you and me" I promised.
"But what about mama and papa?" he asked.

Shit. I hadn't thought of that. They've already lost one of their sons, they don't need to lose their last one.

"We'll keep in touch with them. We'll write and text and we'll call them" I assured.
"When are we leaving?" he asked.
"Tonight"

The clock was nearing 8:00. We crammed as much equipment as we could into our school bags. I snuck downstairs into the kitchen. We needed to get some lightweight 'on-the-go food' to last us until we had settled in. I threw in a packet of muesli bars, some cornflakes, a loaf of bread, a few different bread spreads flavours and a bottle of milk.

"Why milk?" Gerard asked.

I jumped at the sound of his voice. I hadn't notice him behind me. How long had he been standing there and watching me for?

"I tried to get a range of different things" I answered.
"Well you're stupid. All of those things basically belong in the same food group" he laughed.

It was nice to see that Gerard was back to his normal self. It was hard seeing him all quiet and upset for the last few hours. I don't blame him though, we were going to murder a guy and he was never going to see his parents or the house he grew up in.

"I'm taking some fruit" he said as he packed a bag of apples and a few mandarins.
"You do that. I'm going to bring water bottles so we could find a place to fill them up instead of buying $2 water from vending machines" I told him.

I ran back upstairs into our room and checked the briefcase once again. Everything was still there. I took out a few of the bundles of cash and underneath were family photographs. I looked through them one-by-one. The first one was a picture of Mikey and Gerard playing baseball. I looked at the back of the photo and saw some writing.
"Gerard at 8 and Michael at 5 playing baseball with Donald"

I placed the photo on the ground and looked at the next one. This one was a picture of Gerard dressed as Peter Pan. "Gerard playing as Peter Pan for his first school play" He looked so adorable back then.

"What are you looking at?" Gerard asked.
"Fucking hell! Can you stop creeping up on me like that? It's scary as hell" I demanded.
"You're such a pussy. I just asked you a simple question and you squealed louder than a girl on helium" he laughed.

"Anyways, what are you looking at?" he asked again.
"Some photos I found in the briefcase" I replied, handing him the photos.

Gerard bit his lip the whole time he was examining the pictures. He was holding back the pain of losing someone really close to him, and now he was going to never see his greatest role-models ever again.

"We should get going now" he croaked, trying to not break down in front of me.
"Yea we should. Let's go"

I swung my bag over my shoulder and ran downstairs. Donna and Donald would be back soon and if they catch us leaving then we'd be dead and all our planning would go to waste.

"Fuck, I forgot the briefcase" I called out. "I'm gonna quickly go upstairs and get it"
"Hurry up" he yelled back.

I ran up the stairs and into our room. I picked up the briefcase that was laying on the bean bag and proceeded to head out. The sound of the front door slamming made me stop dead in my tracks.

"Hey Donna, did you get the apples from the trunk?"

Shit. Donna and Donald were back home.

"Yea I'm holding them right now and oh hey, Gerard! What are you doing standing in the doorway? And what's up with the bag?" she asked.
"Ummm......... uhhhhhh" Gerard mumbled.

Fucking hell, Gerard. Just lie and run for it. I knew it was no use just saying it in my head, but I still decided to hope he got the message.

"Frank and I..... uhhhh..... we decided to uhhhhh...... go camping for a few days" he murmured.

Are you kidding me?! Camping? I definitely need to teach him how to lie properly.

"Well not tonight, boys" Donna smiled.
"Gerard, we're not stupid. I know that you guys aren't going camping. In fact, I know that you guys are going to run away because when I was 17, I ran away with my best friend Damian. But we ended up in a big mess and I'm not going to let you guys do it and go through the same things" Donald grumbled.
"But..... but we weren't" Gerard argued back.

"Very funny, I said that exact thing to my dad when I was younger so you and Frank should go up to your room now and you guys aren't leaving this house until you guys get that apology letter thing to Jack sorted. End of discussion" Donald growled.

I heard the sound of footsteps thudding on the stairs and in a moment, Gerard popped into the room with his head hanging low, trying to hide his guilt. He shut the door and still proceeded to stare at the floor beneath his feet while heading over to his bed.

"For fuck's sake! Are you actually kidding me? All that planning and preparation gone too waste just because you doesn't know how to tell a decent fucking lie" I yelled.

I couldn't hold my anger it anymore. He finally looked up from the floor and bit his lip while trying to think of a decent comeback.

"Well if you didn't leave the fucking briefcase behind in the first place, this never would've happened! But your tiny as fuck brain couldn't store any more of the simple stuff" he yelled back.

Oh my god. We were actually having our first proper fight. No couples' life is ever going to go smoothly, and ours is definitely not going great right now.

"Are you calling me short now?" I asked.

I hated being called short. I didn't mind being called 'emo' or a loser, but I honestly couldn't stand getting mocked about my height.

Before I knew it, Gerard had lifted me up and slammed me onto the wall. I desperately needed to get him off me. I needed to breathe, but I couldn't. I took control of my right foot and thrust it forward as hard as I could. The blow from the kick must've been pretty hard, because he stumbled back and his back got slammed on the side of his desk.

"Fuck. I'm so sorry, Gerard" I quickly whispered.
"Just forget it. I'm fucking done with you and your shit anyways" he grumbled.
