What would it take to get noticed? To just have his eye on me for a second? What would it take for him to look at me with any kind of interest?

I watched as he laughed at something his friend said and frowned. What was so funny? Don't lean towards him like that! Get your hand off his shoulder!

Before I could process my own jealous thoughts I was walking towards his small group. They all looked up at my approach. One of the boys, the one who had told the joke, smiled at me. We had been friends once apon a time. Then he somehow dropped into this clique and I was left to be the lone wolf. My former friend also went in for the handshake but I deflected it with a glare. Once before the group I realized I had no excuse for being here. What was I supposed to say?

I looked towards the one person whose attention I wanted but was disapointed when I saw him looking down and completely ignoring my presence as he let the group do all the talking.

"Hey man! Where ya' been? We were just talking about this movie me and Lyal watched last night." George pratled on oblivious of whether I was truly listening. All my focus was on Lyal.

Look at me. Look at me. Look at me! Are you too good for me? I know your gay! Look at me! Check me out like I've seen you do to other boys!

My thoughts were on a rampage. Suddenly my fist collided with the locker just by his ear. The whole group startled to a halt. Then finally he looked up into my eyes. His own clear grey one's showed fear.

Ignoring everything but my own stupidity, I turned right around and walked away from the questioning looks the group threw me.

That went well...
