Jason's pov

I'm so worried. I've got to get Clarice to cross over before that other guy gets a hold of her! "DADDY!!!" I rush upstairs worried and open Sam's door. But she's not there. I run down to the nursery where she stood in the doorway. Written in red on the walls were, "Pay." And, "Die." I grab Sam's shoulder. "Don't look baby girl." I say hugging her to my chest. Miranda texted me just then to tell me she's going to Sierra's to hang out. I better fix this before she gets home. I go to work painting the walls light blue again. I sigh worried. "I want to help you, Clarice." I whisper. "Help me with what?" I scream in surprise and drop the paintbrush! "Dammit!" There's a paint splotch on the carpet. I quickly try to scrub it up. Clarice was just watching me for ten minutes. "You've got to cross over. There's a bad man after you." I say. "Cross over where?" "Do you see a light?" She glanced behind herself. "Y-Yeah but... W-Where will I go?" I bend down on one knee and put a hand on her shoulder. "Somewhere really happy." "How do you know? Have you been there?" She asks suspiciously. I shake my head. "No but... My little brother went there... And... I know he's happy." She looks scared. "Promise me one thing." She whispers, her voice shaking. "Anything?" "Sam won't forget about me." Surprise fills me. "You're close with Sam?" She nods. "She's my only friend." I force a smile. "I promise. Now go on. You'll be so much happier." I wipe a tear from her cheek. "I'll miss you." She says. I smile and hug her. "I'll miss you too."

*Later that day*

I woke up with a start from a nap. I had a weird dream about Miranda and the babies. I'm nervous. I call her but it just rings and rings. I head out to door to go to Sierra's to check on her when a red SUV pulls into the drive. A very panicked girl gets out along with a guy. "What's... Who are you?" "Are you the ghost whisperer?" I tense up in surprise. "W-What?" I choke out shakily. "H-How do you know about that?!" "Because I can see them too. My name is Melinda Gordon and this is my husband Jim. You and your family are in grave danger." "WHAT?! WHY?! HOW?!" I cry even more worried about Miranda. "A ghost dressed in black came to you didn't he?" I shakily nod. "H-He tried to m-make me give up this little girl... He... He hurt my wife." She looks at her husband worried. "Where is she?" "At a friend's house. I was about to go check on her because she wasn't answering her phone. She... She's six months pregnant with twin boys." She looks terrified. "Jim go with him. I'll try to deal with this ghost." She goes inside, presumably to deal with that stupid ghost. "How... How long has she been able to see ghosts?" I ask Jim. "Her whole life. I hate how much stress it gives her. What about your wife? Does she believe you?" I nod. "She doesn't like anything to do with the ghosts though. One of her best friends died not too long ago and it gets to her." What are we standing around talking for?! "Let's go." As we were driving there, I got a call from Sierra. "Hey girl." "Jason meet us at the hospital. Miranda's gone into early labor." My breath catches. "IT'S TOO EARLY!" I shout terrified and taking a U-turn! My hands are shaking. I shoot a prayer up, praying for Mason and Max to both be okay! I know that asshole had something to do with it. Because I didn't give Clarice to him! Because I helped cross her over anyway. He made my wife go into premature labor! I'm so scared right now.
