day eight: coffee
yoongi was on his second cup of coffee when the door burst open and hoseok tumbled in all of his messed up glory. panting heavily he settled himself beside his friend in a booth who barely acknowledged him and ordered bubble tea. silently, he stared at his blonde friend noticing the tensed shoulders and an angry frown pulled on his soft mouth. "you alright?"
again the man didn't look up from his black cased phone. "yeah. why?".
"you're frowning". hoseok said, his voice serious as he kept his eyes on the male, hopefully unnerving him enough for him to spit out his problem. "so what's up?"
the blonde looked up, closing the app and placing the phone down on the navy table. dragging a pale hand through his hair, he sighed. "do you want the long story or the short?"
hoseok smiled. "short please".
"do you remember that jimin guy i was telling you about? well now he's sending some weird ass pick up lines and basically haranguing me because i refused to tell my name. its really childish and pointless. and i try to block him forever but that guy is so easy to annoy its somewhat fun". yoongi finished, and picked his phone back up and started furiously typing on it again.
"so he annoys you and you annoy him?". hoseok replied in a dull, emotionless tone. inside he was screaming at yoongi for making him worried for no reason at all.
here he was thinking something bad had happened to his best friend and needed someone to confide in. he got concerned for nothing.
"to put it simply? yeah". his friend shrugged before looking up and stating in a monotone voice. "oh look joon's here". hoseok turned just a woman blocked his sight of namjoon.
sighing he turned back to yoongi who smirked at him. it was just then the waiter returned with his drink, an apologetic smile on his face. "i'm so sorry for the taking so long. here's your drink".
with a flick of his wrist he brushed it off. "it's fine. thank you". once more throwing the smile at him, the male rushed off. hoseok stared at his flamming crimson hair before he vanished behind the counter.
"see? you're too sweet. that's why people like you". yoongi remarked nonchalantly, playing with his drink before swallowing the last of the bitter liquid down his throat.
hoseok smiled at him, grabbing the banana flavoured tea in his hand and taking a sip. "you can be nice too you know. but you always try not to show it".
the man shrugged, standing up from his chair to shrug on his black leather jacket. "its too much work".
frowning, hoseok looked at the male quizzically. where was yoongi going? after all, they had made the plan to meet because they had nothing better to do. "where you going?"
"work called in. i gotta go. it's important".
"fine. yoongi don't go from the bridge, there's a massive traffic jam there".
yoongi gave him a thumbs up while he fished some change out of his pocket before placing it on the table. "tell namjoon he's not ditching us again. take care, hobi".
"bye yoongs".
"oh and before i forget, don't be pussy and get the waiter's number. and don't you dare try to deny it. it's not like we don't notice that you only come to this cafe to ogle at the fire man. Now go".
"you got it! ".
