The IceWing dragoness seized Gavin's front talons, trying to create an icy blast from her mouth, but it looks like the heat was causing it to stall and form slower. This gave Gavin a chance to thwack the IceWing as hard as he could with his wings in her head. Dazed, the IceWing released Gavin's claws and she fell towards the ground. Gavin shot a blast of fire at the female before he was grabbed by the male IceWing. The male's ridged claws dug into Gavin's back, causing him to scream in pain. He thrashed around, hitting the IceWing with his tail. Gavin's tail accidentally hit one of the spikes on the IceWing's back, and the spike went through weaker and smaller scales on his tail. "The IceWings will get revenge," the IceWing said as he tried to stirr up an ice blast from his mouth. "For the IceWings!"
Gavin bit the IceWing's throat, gripping onto the extra horns that covered ice dragon's head. His teeth and claws began to sting painfully as it came in contact with the IceWing's cold scales and body. Gavin felt like he was standing in a snowstorm with nothing to keep him warm.
The IceWing whacked Gavin with his spiked tail right into his side, where his underbelly was still visible, stabbing the soft flesh. Tears dripped out of Gavin's eyes as he roared in both pain and anger, and Gavin shoved away from the IceWing, before he opened his talons and made a fist. The IceWing choked and yelped, his wings shriveling up as he gasped for air. The tingle in his talons intensified as he balled his fists harder, and blue blood began leaking from the IceWing's dark eyes and mouth. The IceWing clawed at the invisible force around his throat, but he couldn't fight the animus magic.
Soon a loud SNAP came from the IceWing, and its neck went limp and flimsy. The IceWing stopped moving completely, and there was no sign of the life within him anymore. Gavin dropped the IceWing from his animus grip, watching the IceWing fall to the ground. Great, Gavin thought sarcastically. I just killed two more dragons. Gavin looked down at the deceased IceWings below him. At least they're not his problem anymore.☾
Gavin couldn't move without a plant touching his scales. The rainforest was filled with birds and animals he had never seen more. Pesky flying insects flew around his face and ears, causing him to snap at them and swat them away. The sludge got between his talons and pieces of tree vines for entangled between his claws and horns. He was annoyed, but at least the Rainforest Kingdom the damp and moist environment kept him hydrated and energized. The light drizzle of rain seeped through his scales as he shook his body. Where are the RainWings?
Shouldn't the rainforest be filled with them?
The stuffy, warm air made Gavin wrinkle his snout and ruffle his wings. I'll get used to this, he thought. Let's just find those dragons.
Vines slithered down a cliff's face like snakes, seeking the pool of tepid water below. The rainforest was looked very beautiful and green. Lots and lots of green. The NightWings would never find him here, anyway. One dragonet in a massive forest would be like trying to find a needle in haystack. He then stops, his tail stiff and his ears twitched. He sensed that someone was near. He smelled a very unpleasant and strong odor that caused his nose to burn and make him lighthearted. Rustling overhead had caused him to look up. A dragon the color of blueberries hung on a branch from her tail, grinning. "Yooo! I haven't seen a NightWing in a while!"
In a bush beside Gavin another RainWing that was as yellow as the Sun poked it's head out. Soon the trees were filled with dragons ranging from so many colors that he'd never even imagined. He saw deep shades of blue pale jade, magenta, and ruby red. They were beautiful.
Suddenly, a RainWing landed in front of Gavin, his frill ruffling with anger. The RainWing was dark red with black dappled on his claws and tail. He certainly looked furious about Gavin's presence, and he wasn't afraid to show it. "What are you doing here, NightWing?" The RainWing bared his teeth, two long fangs clearly visible. The other rainforest dragons silently watched in awe. Gavin was quick to answer. "My name is Gavin. I've came here for help. I do not ask for violence."
The RainWing glared at Gavin for a moment or two. "A NightWing asking for help? Yeah, right. Tell me more lies so I won't melt your face off." The RainWing opened his jaw and his fangs curled out. "Wait! Let me talk to Queen Glory!"
The RainWing slowly closed his mouth as his scales turned emerald green and blue rippled from his tail. He stayed quiet for a few seconds. "Take him to the queen," the rainforest dragon said. "If he tries anything stupid, I'm sure Deathbringer would be glad to kill him."Gavin and a deep violet RainWing soared through the rainforest, dodging trees and greeting other dragons. Birds that were as colorful as the RainWings flew near them, chirping. The RainWing traveled through the treetops by using their tails like monkeys of glide between trees with their wings wide open. Gavin was sure he would never get the hang of that, even if he lived in the Rainforest Kingdom for a year. Gavin smacked into a vine as he tried to keep up. The RainWing in front of him slowed down and began flying at Gavin's speed. "Shouldn't you be with your own tribe?" The RainWing asked, glancing at Gavin. "I'm sure my tribe does not want me for what I've did before I left," Gavin said. "You seem nice," the RainWing suddenly glided upwards, landing on a thick branch. Gavin landed beside him, trying to keep his balance on the branch. "Unlike those yellow dragons! With the barb on their tails!"
Gavin raised his eyebrow. "SandWings?" The RainWing body quickly turned red with a hint of green in his tail. "Yeah, those dragons. They attacked the rainforest not long ago. We don't trust many dragons from other tribes now. You're lucky we even allowed you to come into the Rainforest Kingdom."
Gavin wondered why the SandWings would attack friendly RainWings. They wasn't a threat to any of the other tribes. The RainWing spread his wings, and leapt off of the branch. "Come on. We're almost there, NightWing," the RainWing called out so Gavin could hear. Gavin followed, still trying not to fly into a tree. After a few glides and (attempted) swings later, Gavin hovered in the air, looking at his surroundings. Most of the large trees had wide vine walkways that orange orchids in between them. The vines looked sturdy and thick, so there was no worry about the weight of the dragons breaking them. The RainWings seem to live in treehouses or huts made of leaves and vines, all sticking together with unique patterns with the tying. "A visitor!" A small orange RainWing dragonet suddenly appeared in front of Gavin, hanging from a branch with her tail. "You don't look like the other NightWing that passed through here! You have green wings! And green back spikes!"
"Mormoset!" A pair of pink claws seized the dragonet. The female RainWing hissed at Gavin, her scales turning red and dark green forming on her tail, and he frowned. "Don't talk to other dragons that aren't RainWings, okay?" The female then flying off with the dragonet. Gavin then landed on a platform that was covered in more thick vines and leaves. His RainWing escort hovered above him. "Why do you keep stopping?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, I'm sorry." Gavin then jumped off and flew after the RainWing.
