Chapter 8/ "You Were Brave..."

 They head back to Jane's house and go up to the bathroom. Jane makes gunner sit down on the toilet lid and starts cleaning his hand with hydrogen peroxide. She looks at him and says

"You're brave for what you did out there." He smirked and said

" No Jane, you're the brave one you stood there listening to him without moving a muscle. Most people would have run for the hills if he got close to them knowing he was mad." Jane smiles

"Thank you for protecting me, Gunner. I could have died without you there." Gunner says

"You're welcome. Now let's put all of this behind us."

The next day at school Jane and Gunner are sitting together at lunch when Damon Storms over.

"Gunner what were you thinking taking her to the docks last night. You could have gotten her killed." Gunner stands up and apologizes and explains that she is fine. Damon Punches gunner in the face.

"Don't ever put her in danger like that ever again or worse will come to you." The whole cafeteria is watching as Damon screams at Gunner. Damon storms off cursing under his breath. Jane looks at Gunner and asks if he's okay. He turns towards Jane and says

"I'm so sorry for all of this."
