The Girl Next Door

Chapter 3

Logan's POV

                 I couldn't believe this. The drive in was being tore down. Luckily I was able to run to where I stay and gather my things before they knocked it down. I ran out just looking at it. The screen had been smashed. It looked like hell. I didnt know where to go so I just went to Jackson's house. Luckily he's my friend and he would do anything for me. His dad, Shawn, grabbed an air mattress and put it in Jack's room. I sat on the mattress thinking what Scarlet would say. Should I tell her? Well she is my girlfriend, right? I mean I said I love you so I think that would count. "Hey, bro are you okay? First you weren't yourself today and now this? What's up?" I didn't know if I should tell him about me and Scarlet. "Well, I don't live with my dad, so I always just stayed at the drive in, but, they started tearing it down. I don't know why either. Then Scarlet and I are dating." I said the last part fast and quietly. "What was that last part again?" I put my head down, scared he was going to be upset. "Scarlet and I are-" "Friends? Officially. Sweet." It was like he didn't want to hear that we were dating. Does he like her? Why would he? He's dating Jane. Why would he like both of them? My phone lit up just in time so my mind wasn't wandering. A text from Scarlet. "Who's that? Scarlet?" I looked at him and nodded. 

'Hey Logan. I know we just saw each other, but I feel like something happened to you. Are you okay?'

           I can't believe she knew something happened.

'Yeah, actually I did have something happen. They are tearing the drive in down. I'm staying with Jack. You ok?'

'Yeah, I'm really sorry about the drive in. Did you tell Jack about us?'

'I tried but he thought I was saying we were officially friends. I may try later.'

'Ok, I'll see you tomorrow?'

'Yeah, meet me at Tom's at 9. Ok?'

'Ok see you tomorrow.😘'

'😘'

               "So, what are you guys talking about?" Jack asked confused. "Jack, I tried to tell you but you thought we were just friends. Scarlet and I are dating." He froze in time like he didn't want to hear it. "What? You guys are what? Why? She's mine! Not yours! Why did you take her away from me?!" I didn't understand him. He has a girlfriend. Why does he say that Scarlet's his? I never took her away from him. "What are you talking about? She was never yours! Why are you saying that?! She actually liked you, but then you went off and acted like nothing happened! You are never going to hurt her ever!" I started regretting what I said after he kicked me out. I had nowhere else to go. Scarlet's parents would never let me stay there. I was definitely not going to live with my dad. Half the time he doesn't even know that I'm there. I have no where to go. I start walking around while texting Scarlet. 

'Hey Scarlet, sorry if I woke you but I dont have anywhere to go. Jack and I got in a fight and I'm not living with my dad. I'm going to try and find somewhere to stay. I love you. 😘'

                 I drove to an abandoned apartment and stayed there. After I got my stuff set out I saw a text from Scarlet. 

'I hope you are ok. Be safe and tell me more about it tomorrow, ok?'

'Ok, I love you. 😘'

'😘'

                 I tried to go to sleep that night, but I kept remembering what Jack was saying. "She's mine! Not yours! Why did you take her away from me?!" I couldn't get it out of my head.
