Chapter 15

Scarlet's POV

"Why are you here?!"

I couldn't believe my eyes. Am I really seeing him? Am I losing my mind? 

"Hello Scarlet. It's nice to see you. In person." There he was. The black hood. He looked even scarier closer. "What are you doing here?" I quickly turn to Jane. "Why is he here?" She shrugged. "Oh don't act like you're innocent. If you were innocent you would be freaking out right now." I look at Jack. "And you. You aren't grabbing something and beating him to death." I look back at the black hood. "You stay away from me. All of you!" I started for the door, but Jane and Jack stopped me. "You can't leave." Jack said. "You aren't the boss of me. Get out of my way!" I yelled. "Scarlet, just hear us out." Jane said in her calm and collective voice. "No! You are helping him!" Jane sighed. "Please, Scarlet." 

I sat down, far away from everyone. "Look, we started helping him a few weeks ago." I widened my eyes. I couldn't believe that they were working for him for the past week. "And does Logan know about this?" I asked, nervous that that was the secret. Jane looked worried. "Yeah, he kind of is part of this too." I froze. I had so many thoughts running through my mind. 'Why did he of all people help the black hood?'  "Okay, I'm leaving. I don't want to hear another word from any of you, okay? Okay. Bye" I said standing up. "I don't think you want to do that Scarlet." I heard the black hood say. I turned around and looked at him dead in the eye. "I don't want to hear a word from you so shut up and leave this town." I was not in the mood to deal with his bs. 

I left the room as quickly as I could and ran downstairs. I stormed out of her house and ran to Tom's. I opened the diner door and saw Logan. "Scarlet. Hey, can we talk?" He said, looking up from his phone. Jane must've texted him. I turned around and left. I heard him running after me. 

"Hey Scarlet. Please let me explain." He touched my shoulder. I quickly turned and smacked his hand. "No Logan! They already explained everything to me! You have nothing else to say to me and I don't have anything to say to you so just leave me alone Logan!" I yelled, getting teary. "Yes I do! If you would listen to me you would understand!" He yelled. It was so weird fighting so much with Logan. "Fine. But hurry up. I've had a bad day already." He held my hands and I stared into his eyes. "Scarlet. I love you. And I would never do anything to hurt you." I closed my eyes. "Well then why did you agree to help the black hood?" He sighed and looked at the ground. "I helped him because he threatened to kill you if I didn't accept. I didn't want you to be gone. Please forgive me." I looked down. "What I don't understand, is why would he want your help? Hasn't he done enough on his own?" He nods. "Yes he has. I didn't understand either. He said that he needed me to get to someone else. He couldn't do it on his own." "Wait, and you agreed? I know you were trying to protect me but you're killing someone else to save me? That's just bs! I can't listen to you right now. I'm leaving." I turned around and saw the black hood. He quickly put a bag around my head. I tried screaming, but got knocked out.

End Of Flashback

"Scarlet?" I woke up from the flashback. "I think she remembered too much." Jack said to Logan. "You guys. You all are working for him!" I yelled, pointing at them. "And you decided to work with him after everything he did? He killed Orey! How do you think Mike feels?" I yelled. "Mike doesn't know. And he won't." Logan said. I looked at Logan. "Why? You of all people. How could you do this to me? I wanted the black hood dead so we could be happy together! Now, if I kill the black hood, I would only be doing it, for me." Logan walked up to me. "No. We could still live together and have a happy life. I just have to finish a job." I shook my head. "Logan, get back." The black hood said. Logan stepped away. I started backing up. "Just wait right there for me, ok Scarlet?" Logan said, holding his hand out. I started walking away once he turned his head. "Scarlet! Stop!" Jack yelled. I ran away as fast as I could. I heard Jane come after me. 

"Scarlet! Wait!" She yelled. I saw a bush and hid behind it. I looked around to where I was at. It was the same place where Logan and I were when Shawn got us. I saw Jane come around the corner. "Scarlet. I know you're hiding here somewhere." She was right in front of me. "Scarlet. Please come out." She turned around. "She's somewhere over here. We have to get her before Shawn finds her." She said to someone. She started walking and I threw a rock to the other side of the woods. She looked at it and told whoever to follow her. Once they all were out of sight, I ran as fast as I could. It sounded like Shawn had something to do with this. I ran as fast as I could to the bar that Shawn is usually at. 

I entered the bar and found Shawn sitting in a seat. "Shawn." I said, out of breath. "What're you doing here?" As I tried catching my breath, I heard a familiar voice. "Scarlet!" It was faint, but I knew it was Jack. "Please help me. Logan, Jack, and Jane are working for him. Please." He nodded. "Yeah, yeah I know. Follow me." He took me to a hideout in the bar. "No one will find you here. Not even Logan. I'll explain everything when I get back. Be quiet." He left me there, alone, in the dark. I sat quietly on the floor, waiting for him to come back. I started hearing voices a few minutes later. "Dad, where is she?" I heard Logan say. I started to notice footsteps under the door. 'Shawn said that Logan wouldn't be able to find me.' I heard the voices start to get louder and louder. "Logan, she isn't here anymore. She said something about going home to get some rest." Shawn said. 'Stupid cover up.' I thought. "Ha! Scarlet would go anywhere except home." He was right. At this point, I don't ever want to go home again. "That's what she told me." Shawn said, trying to get him to leave. "Oh. Right. The school. Ok dad. Whatever. Bye." He said leaving. I understand why he would think the school is where I would be. All of a sudden, Shawn came through the door and flipped a switch. It was still dark but I could see him better. "Scarlet, you have to find the black hood. He's behind all of this. If you find him, and kill him, the only people you would have to worry about is your friends. They would be easy to get rid of." I looked down. "They aren't my friends." He smiled. "Ok even easier then. You will just have to go to the Sheriff and tell him everything that has happened. But whatever you do, don't reveal who the black hood is. If you do, it will ruin everything." I nodded. "Now. Jack had difficulties with his dad yesterday, and he did something very bad because of his anger. Jane was mad at you for choosing Logan over her. And Logan, he, well. He didn't want you to get hurt so he helped the black hood." I looked up. "Why does the black hood want there help?"

"His help. He only wants his help. Jane just wanted to work with him to get to you. Jack wanted to help him to get to his dad's employees after finding out something. The black hood wants Logan's help to get to you so you would do something that you'll regret. But Logan doesn't know that. He thinks that he's getting to you to get to someone else."   "Who is that someone else?" I asked. "Your father."
