School had ended and I was walking out towards the parking lot with Jessica beside me and Jackson sleeping, yet again, in his car seat.

"We need to go to the mall," she said in an excited voice.

"Why's that?" I asked her. The mall was not my favorite place, or anywhere on my top 100.

"You're going on a date, with a hot senior might I add."

" I don't know what we're doing so I don't want to overdress."

"What are you going to wear then? A tee shirt and jeans, nope. Not happening tonight."

"Why not? I'm comfortable that way." It was true though, it was a very comfortable outfit.

"You're not a 45 year old single mom, you're a 17 year old girl, dress like one."

"How am I supposed to dress?"

"Lively, show a bit of skin.

"I have stretch marks though."

"So what? I have stretch marks too."

"Yeah, but on your legs, not on your stomach."

"They're still there. I can bet you all the money in the world that Brendan will not care that you have stretch marks. We're getting you laid tonight."

"One child is enough, thank you very much," I laughed.

"So use protection, you know what that is right?" She asked in a sarcastic voice.

"No, what's that?" I replied in an equally sarcastic tone.

"You joke but you're the one who got pregnant."

"Rough, that's true though."

"Sorry, that was a bit rude of me," she said in a truly apologetic tome.

"Does that mean we don't have to go shopping?" I asked with a hopeful tone.

"Oh no, you're not getting out of this that easily," she said with a grin on her face. We got in the car and drove to my house.

We got there and Adelaide was home along with Ethan.

"Hey," I said to the two of them who were both sitting in the living room. "Could you watch Jackson for a few hours? I'm being forced to go to the mall but Adam is coming to pick him up later."

"Yeah, of course," Ethan said with a smile on his face.

"Okay, formula's in the fridge if you need it, clothes are in my room, pacifiers are on the dresser and desk in my room or in his diaper bag, and-" I was interrupted by Jessica pulling me out the door and yelling goodbye to them.

"Okay, so what is my budget?" She asked me as I drove us to the mall.

"I'm not sure, enough that you can get me a few nice outfits but not too much that I wipe out my bank account."

"Deal," she says with a huge smile on her face

"Hey, could you text Brendan and ask him what the dress code is?" I said with a small laugh at the end of my sentence.

"Sure," she smiled and grabbed my phone from the bag. She scanned in her fingerprint and goes to the messages. She sends the message and then stares at me.

"What?" I asked her.

"Babe? Really?" She laughs.

"What? I think it's cute."

"You're adorable," she laughs and reads through the rest of the messages.

"Is he approved?" I ask her in a joking manner.
