Chapter 12-Decisions

My eyes open slowly and I suddenly see that my surroundings had changed from when I last remembered.

For my memory, I remembered being in the woods, sitting next to Brendan. I think we were talking about me possibly being pregnant.

I sit up in the bed and suddenly grab my head for the blood rushing to it from getting up to quickly.

I slowly stand up and make my way out of the bedroom to the kitchen where I smell some sort of food cooking.

"Hey Athena," I hear Brendan say as I enter the kitchen and sit at the island.

"Hi," I say softly and place my head down.

"Are you okay?" He asks as he places a plate down next to me.

"Do you think that there is anyway that you could drop me off at home soon. I need to pick up Jackson tomorrow and I wanted to get a good nights sleep before having to wake up at strange hours of the night once I get him back," I say as I lift my head up and look into Brendan's gray eyes.

"Of course, I understand. I'll drive you home as soon as you eat. You haven't eaten anything in over twelve hours, you must be starving."

"I'm fine but thank you," I say as I pick up a fork and play with the food a little bit.

"Do you need me to feed you?"
He jokes and he continues to eat the food.

I looked at the food for a second and realized that it was the dinner we made last night.

"I felt bad that we didn't get to eat the dinner so I reheated it, I hope that's okay," Brendan said as he looked into my eyes.

"That's fine," I said and began to eat little by little.

I was almost done when Brendan got up and went to clean his dish in the sink.

"Brendan?" I asked, setting my fork down.

"Yes?" He responded as he kept washing his dishes and moved onto the pots and pans.

"Do you think that I could actually be pregnant?" I asked as I got up with my things to wash in the sink.

"There's a chance," he said as he went to grab my plate.

"I can wash it," I said because I felt bad that he had to clean up after me.

"It's fine," he said as he grabbed it and began it wash it.

"I could get an abortion if I'm pregnant," I said and as I did Brendan dropped the dishes in the sink which scared me.

"Athena," he said as he turned to me. "Would you want to get an abortion?"

"No, not really. I have to think about what would be best for the child if I was. I don't know if I could support the child and be able to still go to school. Jackson is already making my life difficult, I wouldn't want it any other way, I'm just saying."

"You wouldn't support the child by yourself, you know that right?" He asks as he turned off the water and dried his hands.

"You would have your education to focus on, I would feel awful if you couldn't follow your aspirations because of me," I said as I ran my hands through my hair.

"I wouldn't be giving up anything. If you are pregnant, it would be growing our lives and making them better because of that child."

"I don't know, I can't think straight right now, could you drive me home?" I asked as Brendan walked towards me.

"Of course," he said as he grabbed the keys and got his coat while I went to grab my dress and heels.

I met him at the front door and we walked outside and to the car.

I saw my clutch there and remembered that I forgot to text Ethan telling him that I was staying over.

I grabbed my phone to see a bunch of text from Adelaide and Ethan, all regarding my absence.

I start a group text with the three of us to tell them what happened.

Athena: Hey guys, I didn't mean to make you guys worry. We ended up a few hours from home and it was pretty late so we stayed over.-3:12

Ethan: I'm glad you're okay but where was your phone?-3:12

Adelaide: Tell me the details ;) -3:12

Athena: I left my phone in the car and I can tell you the details when I get home.-12:13

Adelaide: Fine, but I want to know all of it, no detail is too small.-12:13

Athena: Only perfection for you.-12:13

I smiled to myself and remembered that I had planned to text Jess once the date was over but I don't think that it was even over yet.

Athena: Hey...-3:15

Jessica: Are you kidding me? You were out on a date and I didn't hear from you for forever and all you have to say to me is hey?-3:16

Athena: Sorry?-3:16

Jessica: Nope, not good enough. Now you have to tell me everything, I'm also coming over at 6 and we are having a girls night; Adelaide's jointing.-3:17

Athena: I'm in the car right now but I'll text you once I get home.-3:17

Jessica: In the car going to where exactly?-3:18

Athena: Home.-3:18

Jessica: Did you even come home last night?-3:18

Athena: Ummm...-3:19

Jessica: Are you kidding me? You got with an extremely sexy senior and you didn't feel the need to tell me?-3:21

Athena: It didn't seem like it was that important.-3:21

Jessica: That's it, I'll be waiting at your house for you when you get home.-3:22

Athena: Just make sure someone lets you in...and order some food for us.-3:22

Jessica: Will do! The usual?-3:22

Athena: Yup, thanks babe.-3:23

I shut my phone off and turned to face Brendan.

"So, sexy senior huh?" Brendan laughed but didn't take his eyes off of the empty road.

"Hey, those were Jessica's words, not mine," I said throwing my hands up in the air.

"Are you saying that I'm not sexy?" He asked with a fake pout.

"Precisely, you took to words right out of my mouth," I said in a mocking tone. Brendan stuck his tongue out at me and I did the same to him.

"Well," he said reaching over and grabbed my hand. "I think that you are incredibly sexy."
